Implications of the Large Polarization Measured in Gamma Ray Bursts / Dado, Shlomo (Technion) ; Dar, Arnon (Technion) ; De Rujula, A. (CERN)
The polarization of the prompt $\gamma$-ray emission has been measured in four bright gamma ray bursts (GRBs). [...]

'Jet breaks' and 'missing breaks' in the X-Ray afterglow of Gamma Ray Bursts / Dado, Shlomo (Technion) ; Dar, Arnon (Technion ; CERN) ; De Rujula, A. (CERN ; Boston U.)
The X-ray afterglows (AGs) of Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs) and X-Ray Flashes (XRFs) have, after the fast decline phase of their prompt emission, a temporal behaviour varying between two extremes. A large fraction of these AGs has a 'canonical' light curve which, after an initial shallow-decay 'plateau' phase, 'breaks smoothly' into a fast power-law decline. [...]

The diverse broad-band light-curves of Swift GRBs reproduced with the cannonball model / Dado, Shlomo (Technion) ; Dar, Arnon (CERN) ; De Rújula, A (CERN)
Two radiation mechanisms, inverse Compton scattering (ICS) and synchrotron radiation (SR), suffice within the cannonball (CB) model of long gamma ray bursts (LGRBs) and X-ray flashes (XRFs) to provide a very simple and accurate description of their observed prompt emission and afterglows. Simple as they are, the two mechanisms and the burst environment generate the rich structure of the light curves at all frequencies and times. [...]

Is there a 1998BW-like supernova in the afterglow of gamma-ray burst 010921? / Dado, Shlomo (Technion) ; Dar, Arnon (Technion) ; De Rujula, Alvaro (CERN)
We use the very simple and successful Cannonball Model (CB) of gamma ray bursts (GRBs) and their afterglows (AGs) to analyze the observations of the strongly extinct optical AG of GRB 010921 with ground-based telescopes at early times, and with the HST at later time. [...]

On the "canonical behaviour" of the X-ray afterglows of the Gamma Ray Bursts observed with Swift's XRT / Dado, Shlomo (Technion) ; Dar, Arnon (Technion) ; De Rujula, A. (CERN ; Boston U.)
The "canonical behaviour" of the early X-ray afterglows of long-duration Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs) --observed by the X-Ray Telescope of the SWIFT satellite-- is precisely the one predicted by the Cannonball model of GRBs..

The supernova associated with GRB 020405 / Dado, Shlomo (Technion) ; Dar, Arnon (Technion) ; De Rujula, Alvaro (CERN)
We used the very simple and successful Cannonball (CB) model of gamma ray bursts (GRBs) and their afterglows (AGs) to analyze the observations of the mildly extinct optical AG of the relatively nearby GRB 020405, first made with ground-based telescopes, and with the HST at later times. We show that GRB 020405 was associated with a 1998bw-like supernova (SN) at the GRB's redshift which appeared dimmer and red relative to SN1998bw because of extinction in the host and our Galaxy. The superluminal motion of Gamma-Ray-Burst sources and the complex afterglow of GRB 030329 / Dado, Shlomo (Technion) ; Dar, Arnon (Technion) ; De Rujula, Alvaro (CERN ; Technion)
The source of the very bright Gamma-Ray Burst GRB 030329 is close enough to us for there to be a hope to measure or significantly constrain its putative superluminal motion. [...]

The time ending the shallow decay of the X-ray light curves of long GRBs / Dado, Shlomo (Technion) ; Dar, Arnon (Technion) ; De Rujula, A. (CERN ; Boston U.)
We show that the mean values and distributions of the time ending the shallow decay of the light curve of the X-ray afterglow of long gamma ray bursts (GRBs), the equivalent isotropic energy in the X-ray afterglow up to that time and the equivalent isotropic GRB energy, as well as the correlations between them, are precisely those predicted by the cannonball (CB) model of GRBs. Fireballs and cannonballs confront the afterglow of GRB 991208 / Dado, Shlomo (Technion) ; Dar, Arnon (Technion ; CERN) ; De Rujula, Alvaro (CERN)
Galama et al. have recently reported their follow-up measurements of the radio afterglow (AG) of the Gamma Ray Burst (GRB) 991208, up to 293 days after burst, and their reanalysis of the broad-band AG, in the framework of standard fireball models. [...]

The Supernova associated with GRB 030329 / Dado, Shlomo (Technion) ; Dar, Arnon (Technion) ; De Rujula, Alvaro (CERN)
The relative proximity of the recent gamma ray burst (GRB) 030329 resulted in a large gamma-ray fluence and in the brightest-ever afterglow (AG), hours after the burst, in the radio, optical and X-ray bands, permitting precise AG measurements, sensitive tests of models and an excellent occasion to investigate the association of GRBs with supernovae (SNe). The Cannonball (CB) model provides a good, simple and universal description of all AGs of GRBs of known redshift, so that it is straightforward to use it to predict what the expected SN signatures are.
