The Medipix2-based network for measurement of spectral characteristics and composition of radiation in ATLAS detector / Vykydala, Z (Prague, Tech. U.) ; Bouchami, J (Montreal U.) ; Campbell, M (CERN) ; Dolezal, Z (Charles U.) ; Fiederle, M (Freiburg U.) ; Greiffenberg, D (Freiburg U.) ; Gutierrez, A (Montreal U.) ; Heijne, E (CERN) ; Holy, T (Prague, Tech. U.) ; Idarraga, J (Montreal U.) et al.
The ATLAS detector is now installed at the CERN LHC and a precise evaluation of the radiation environment within and around the detector is required to understand the performance of the various detector systems, and to predict their useful lifetime. Furthermore, validation of earlier Monte Carlo predictions about the radiation field in ATLAS is necessary. [...]

Luminosity Monitoring in ATLAS with MPX Detectors / Asbah, Nedaa (Montreal U.) /ATLAS ; Medipix2
The ATLAS-MPX detectors are based on the Medipix2 silicon devices designed by CERN for the detection of multiple types of radiation. Sixteen such detectors were successfully operated in the ATLAS detector at the LHC and collected data independently of the ATLAS data-recording chain from 2008 to 2013. [...]

The TOTEM Detector at LHC / Ruggiero, G (CERN) ; Antchev, G (CERN) ; Aspell, P (CERN) ; Atanassov, I (CERN) ; Avati, V (CERN ; Penn State U.) ; Berardi, V (INFN, Bari) ; Berretti, M (INFN, Pisa) ; Bozzo, M (INFN, Genoa) ; Brücken, E (Helsinki U. of Tech.) ; Buzzo, A (INFN, Genoa) et al.
The TOTEM experiment, small in size compared to the others at the LHC, is dedicated to the measurement of the total proton-proton cross-section with the luminosity-independent method and to the study of elastic and diffractive scattering. To achieve optimum forward coverage for charged particles emitted by the pp collisions in the interaction point IP5, two tracking telescopes, T1 and T2, are installed on each side in the pseudo-rapidity region between 3.1 and 6.5, and Roman Pot (RP) stations are placed at distances of 147m and 220m from IP5.
