Dilepton measurements with CERES / CERES Collaboration
We report on dilepton measurements for central Pb on Au collisions at the top CERN SPS energy with the upgraded CERES experiment. The dilepton mass spectrum of 2000 data with improved mass resolution shows an enhancement over the expectation from hadron decays that is well described by a model including a strong broadening of the $\rho$ spectral function. Universal pion freeze-out in heavy-ion collisions / Adamova, D ; Agakichiev, G ; Appelshäuser, H ; Belaga, V ; Braun-Munzinger, P ; Castillo, A ; Cherlin, A ; Damjanovic, S ; Dietel, T ; Dietrich, L et al.
Based on an evaluation of recent systematic data on two-pion interferometry and on measured particle yields at mid-rapidity, we propose a universal condition for thermal freeze-out of pions in heavy-ion collisions. We show that freeze-out occurs when the mean free path of pions lambda_f reaches a value of approximately 2.5 fm, which is much smaller than the spatial extent of the system at freeze-out. [...]

New results from CERES / CERES Collaboration
We will focus here on results from the 1999 data taking period, where 8 M Pb+Au events at 40 AGeV were recorded. Since the new readout system of the TPC was not yet properly working, this data set is limited in terms of statistics, and momentum resolution. [...]

Low-mass lepton pair production in Pb - Au collisions at 40 A $\cdot$ GeV / Adamova, D ; Agakichiev, G ; Appelshäuser, H ; Belaga, V ; Braun-Munzinger, P ; Cherlin, A ; Damjanovic, S ; Dietel, T ; Dietrich, L ; Drees, A et al.
The CERES/NA45 experiment at the CERN SPS has previously measured e **+e**- pair production in 160 A center dot GeV Pb-Au collisions. In the mass region m greater than 0.2 GeV/c**2, an enhancement of 2.7 plus or minus 0.4(stat.) plus or minus 0.5(syst.) compared to the expectation from known hadronic decay sources was observed. Event-by-event fluctuations at SPS / Appelshauser, Harald (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Sako, Hiro (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Adamova, D. ; Agakichiev, G. ; Belaga, V. ; Braun-Munzinger, P. ; Castillo, A. ; Cherlin, A. ; Damjanovic, S. ; Dietel, T. et al.
Results on event-by-event fluctuations of the mean transverse momentum and net charge in Pb-Au collisions, measured by the CERES Collaboration at CERN-SPS, are presented. We discuss the centrality and beam energy dependence and compare our data to cascade calculations..

The CERES/NA45 experiment at the CERN SPS was upgraded in 1998 by the addition of a cylindrical Time Projection Chamber. The aim is to improve the mass resolution of e sup + e sup - pairs in the rho/omega/phi region to DELTA m/m < 2%. [...]

Leptonic and charged kaon decay modes of the $\phi$ meson measured in heavy-ion collisions at the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron / CERES Collaboration
We report a measurement of $\phi$ meson production in central Pb+Au collisions at E$_{lab}$/A=158 GeV. For the first time in heavy-ion collisions, $\phi$ mesons were reconstructed in the same experiment both in the K$^+$K$^-$ and the dilepton decay channel. [...]

Latest results from CERES/NA45 / CERES/NA45 Collaboration
In this talk latest results from the analysis of e+e- pairs emitted in Pb+Au collisions at 40 AGeV/c and a combined analysis of all data available at 158 AGeV/c are presented. The enhancement of low-mass e+e- pairs (m_ee>0.2 GeV/c^2) with respect to the expected yield from hadron decays first reported at 158 AGeV/c is also found at 40 AGeV/c and is even larger there. [...]
