Studies for the K12 High-Intensity Kaon Beam at CERN / D'Alessandro, Gian Luigi (CERN ; JAI, UK) ; Banerjee, Dipanwita (CERN) ; Bernhard, Johannes (CERN) ; Boogert, Stewart T (JAI, UK) ; Brugger, Markus (CERN) ; Doble, Niels (CERN ; Mainz U.) ; Gatignon, Laurent (CERN ; Lancaster U.) ; Gerbershagen, Alexander (CERN) ; Gibson, Stephen M (JAI, UK) ; Marchevski, Radoslav (CERN ; Mainz U.) et al.
The NA62 experiment is a fixed target experiment located in the North Area of CERN and has as main goal the measurement of the branching ratio of the rare decay K±>pi+vv. The primary proton beam from the SPS accelerator interacts with the T10 beryllium target and the generated 75 GeV/c secondary particles, containing about 6% of positive kaons, are transported by the K12 beamline to the NA62 experiment. Recent BDSIM Related Developments and Modeling of Accelerators / Nevay, Laurence J (JAI, UK) ; Abramov, Andrey (CERN) ; Alden, Siobhan E (JAI, UK) ; Boogert, Stewart T (JAI, UK) ; D'Alessandro, Gian Luigi (JAI, UK) ; Gibson, Stephen M (JAI, UK) ; Gnacadja, Eustache (Brussels U.) ; Hernalsteens, Cédric (CERN) ; Lefebvre, Helena (JAI, UK) ; Liu, Shan L (DESY) et al.
Beam Delivery Simulation (BDSIM) is a program based on Geant4 that creates 3D radiation transport models of accelerators from a simple optical description in a vastly reduced time frame with great flexibility. It also uses ROOT and CLHEP to create a single simulation model that can accurately track all particle species in an accelerator to predict and understand beam losses, secondary radiation, dosimetric quantities and their origin. First Studies of Ion Collimation for the LHC Using BDSIM / Abramov, Andrey (JAI, UK ; Royal Holloway, U. of London) ; Boogert, Stewart (JAI, UK ; Royal Holloway, U. of London) ; Nevay, Laurence (JAI, UK ; Royal Holloway, U. of London) ; Walker, Stuart (JAI, UK ; Royal Holloway, U. of London)
At the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN ion physics runs are performed in addition to proton physics runs. In ion operation the cleaning efficiency of the collimation system is lower than in the case of protons and the ion showering process is more complicated and produces a larger variety of secondary particles. Investigation of CLIC 380 GeV post-collision line / Bodenstein, Ryan (JAI, UK ; Oxford U. ; CERN) ; Abramov, Andrey (JAI, UK ; Royal Holloway, U. of London ; CERN) ; Boogert, Stewart (JAI, UK ; Royal Holloway, U. of London) ; Burrows, Philip (JAI, UK ; Oxford U. ; CERN) ; Nevay, Laurence (JAI, UK ; Royal Holloway, U. of London ; CERN) ; Schulte, Daniel (CERN) ; Tomás, Rogelio (CERN)
It has been proposed that the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) be commissioned in stages, starting with a lower-energy, 380 GeV version for the first stage, and concluding with a 3 TeV version for the final stage. In the Conceptual Design Report (CDR) [1] published in 2012, the post-collision line is described for the 3 TeV and 500 GeV stages. [...]
