KEKB was the first facility to implement the crab crossing technique in 2007, for the interaction of electron and positron beams. The High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) project envisages the use of crab cavities for increasing and levelling the luminosity of proton-proton collisions in LHC. [...]

For the 14 mrad crossing angle proposed, crab cavity systems are fundamentally anticipated for the viable operation of the International Linear Collider (ILC), in order to maximise its luminosity performance. Since 2021, a specialist development team have been defining optimum crab cavity technologies which can fulfil the operational requirements for ILC, both for its baseline centre-of-mass energy of 250 GeV, but also extending those requirements out to higher beam collision intensities. The final steps in the manufacturing of a superconducting RF cavity involve careful tuning before the final welds to match the target frequency as fabrication tolerances may introduce some frequency deviations. The target frequency is chosen based on analysis of the shifts induced by remaining processing steps including acid etching and cool down. [...]

DQW HOM Coupler Design for the HL-LHC / Mitchell, James (Lancaster U. ; CERN) ; Burt, Graeme (Lancaster U.) ; Calaga, Rama (CERN) ; Verdú-Andrés, Silvia (Brookhaven Natl. Lab.) ; Xiao, Binping (Brookhaven Natl. Lab.)
HOMs in the DQW crab cavity can produce large heat loads and beam instabilities as a result of the high current HL-LHC beams. The DQW crab cavity has on-cavity, coaxial HOM couplers to damp the HOMs whilst providing a stop-band response to the fundamental mode. [...]
