Simulations of busy probabilities in the ALPIDE chip and the upgraded ALICE ITS detector / Nesbo, Simon Voigt (HVL, Norway) ; Alme, Johan (U. Bergen (main)) ; Bonora, Matthias (CERN) ; Giubilato, Piero (INFN, Padua ; Padua U.) ; Helstrup, Haavard (HVL, Norway) ; Hristozkov, Svetlomir (CERN) ; Aglieri Rinella, Gianluca (CERN) ; Röhrich, Dieter (U. Bergen (main)) ; Schambach, Joachim (U. Texas, Austin (main)) ; Shahoyan, Ruben (CERN) et al. /ALICE ITS
For the Long Shutdown 2 (LS2) upgrade of the ITS detector in the ALICE experiment at the LHC, a novel pixel detector chip, the ALPIDE chip, has been developed. In the event of busy ALPIDE chips in the ITS detector, the readout electronics may need to take appropriate action to minimize loss of data. [...]

Towards the ALICE Online-Offline (O$^2$) control system / Mrnjavac, Teo (CERN) ; Chibante Barroso, Vasco (CERN)
The ALICE Experiment at CERN LHC (Large Hadron Collider) is under preparation for a major upgrade that is scheduled to be deployed during Long Shutdown 2 in 2019-2020 and that includes new computing systems, called O$^2$ (Online-Offline). To ensure the efficient operation of the upgraded experiment along with its newly designed computing system, a reliable, high performance and automated control system will be developed with the goal of managing the lifetime of all the O$^2$ processes, and of handling the various phases of the data taking activity by interacting with the detectors, the trigger system and the LHC. Commissioning of the new ALICE Inner Tracking System / Iddon, James Philip (Liverpool U. ; CERN) /ALICE ITS Collaboration
The upgrade of the Inner Tracking System (ITS) of ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) will extend measurements of heavy-flavour hadrons and low-mass dileptons to a lower transverse momentum than currently achieved and increase the readout capabilities to incorporate the full interaction. Furthermore, the tracking efficiency will be improved at low transverse momentum. [...]
