Diffractive $\gamma \gamma$ production in $pp$ collisions at the LHC / Goncalves, V.P. (Pelotas U.) ; Martins, D.E. (Rio de Janeiro Federal U.) ; Rangel, M.S. (Rio de Janeiro Federal U.)
In this letter we estimate the contribution of the double diffractive processes for the diphoton production in $pp$ collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The acceptance of the central and forward LHC detectors is taken into account and predictions for the invariant mass, rapidity and, transverse momentum distributions are presented. [...]

In this paper we present a detailed analysis of the contribution of the Light -- by -- Light (LbL), Durham and double diffractive processes for the diphoton production in ultraperipheral $PbPb$ collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), High -- Energy LHC (HE -- LHC) and Future Circular Collider (FCC). The acceptance of the central and forward LHC detectors is taken into account and predictions for the invariant mass, rapidity, transverse momentum and acoplanarity distributions are presented. [...]

Coherent and incoherent $J/\Psi $ photoproduction in $Pb - Pb$ collisions at the LHC, HE-LHC and FCC / Gonçalves, Victor P. (Pelotas U.) ; Martins, Daniel E. (Rio de Janeiro Federal U.) ; Sena, Celso R. (Pelotas U.)
The coherent and incoherent $J/\Psi$ photoproduction in $PbPb$ collisions are investigated considering the possible states of nucleon configurations in the nuclear wave function and taking into account of the non - linear corrections to the QCD dynamics. The cross sections and the rapidity and transverse momentum distributions are estimated for the energies of the next run of the LHC, High -- Energy LHC and Future Circular Collider. [...]

Top quark pair production in the exclusive processes at LHC / Gonçalves, Victor P. (Pelotas U.) ; Martins, Daniel E. (Rio de Janeiro Federal U.) ; Rangel, Murilo S. (Rio de Janeiro Federal U.) ; Tasevsky, Marek (Prague, Inst. Phys.)
We analyze the LHC prospects for measurements of the $t\bar{t}$ pair produced exclusively in photon-photon or semi-exclusively in photon-Pomeron and Pomeron-Pomeron processes using protons tagged in forward proton detectors on both sides of the interaction point. These processes are interesting from the point of view of a possible measurement of the top quark mass and constraining models used in Beyond Standard Model physics. [...]

Exclusive vector meson production in electron – ion collisions at the EIC, LHeC and FCC–$eh$ / Goncalves, Victor P. (Pelotas U.) ; Martins, Daniel E. (Rio de Janeiro Federal U.) ; Sena, Celso R. (Pelotas U.)
The exclusive vector meson production in electron-ion collisions for the energies of the future colliders is investigated. We present predictions for the coherent and incoherent $\phi$ and $J/\psi$ production in $eAu$ collisions considering the possible states of nucleon configurations in the nuclear wave function and taking into account of the non-linear corrections to the QCD dynamics. Neutron star structure from QCD / Fraga, Eduardo S. (Rio de Janeiro Federal U.) ; Kurkela, Aleksi (CERN ; Stavanger U.) ; Vuorinen, Aleksi (Helsinki Inst. of Phys. ; Helsinki U.)
In this review article, we argue that our current understanding of the thermodynamic properties of cold QCD matter, originating from first principles calculations at high and low densities, can be used to efficiently constrain the macroscopic properties of neutron stars. In particular, we demonstrate that combining state-of-the-art results from Chiral Effective Theory and perturbative QCD with the current bounds on neutron star masses, the Equation of State of neutron star matter can be obtained to an accuracy better than 30% at all densities..

Constraining neutron star matter with Quantum Chromodynamics / Kurkela, Aleksi (CERN) ; Fraga, Eduardo S. (Frankfurt U. ; Frankfurt U., FIAS ; Rio de Janeiro Federal U.) ; Schaffner-Bielich, Jürgen (Frankfurt U.) ; Vuorinen, Aleksi (Helsinki Inst. of Phys.)
In recent years, there have been several successful attempts to constrain the equation of state of neutron star matter using input from low-energy nuclear physics and observational data. We demonstrate that significant further restrictions can be placed by additionally requiring the pressure to approach that of deconfined quark matter at high densities. [...]

Nonexclusive particle production by $\gamma\gamma$ interactions in $pp$ collisions at the LHC / da Silveira, G. Gil (Rio Grande do Sul U. ; Rio de Janeiro State U.) ; Gonçalves, V.P. (Pelotas U.) ; Vargas Veronez, G.G. (Pelotas U.)
Particle production in two-photon interactions at hadronic collisions is becoming increasingly relevant in the LHC physics programme as a way to improve our understanding of the Standard Model and search for signals of New Physics. A key ingredient for the study of these interactions in $pp$ collisions is the description of the photon content of the proton, which allow us to derive predictions for the cross sections associated to events where occur the proton dissociation (non - exclusive processes) and for those where both incident protons remain intact (exclusive processes). This report summarizes the presentations and discussions during the Rapid Reaction Task Force "Dynamics of critical fluctuations: Theory -- phenomenology -- heavy-ion collisions", which was organized by the ExtreMe Matter Institute EMMI and held at GSI, Darmstadt, Germany in April 2019. We address the current understanding of the dynamics of critical fluctuations in QCD and their measurement in heavy-ion collision experiments. [...]
