In this paper we present the Experiment Dashboard monitoring system, which is currently in use by four Large Hadron Collider (LHC)[1] experiments. The goal of the Experiment Dashboard is to monitor the activities of the LHC experiments on the distributed infrastructure, providing monitoring data from the virtual organization (VO) and user perspectives. The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) experiments will collect unprecedented data volumes in the next Physics run, with high pile-up collisions resulting in events that require a complex processing. Hence, the collaborations have been required to update their Computing Models to optimize the use of the available resources and control the growth of resources, in the midst of widespread funding restrictions, without penalizing any of the Physics objectives. Integrating network and transfer metrics to optimize transfer efficiency and experiment workflows / McKee, S (Michigan U., MCTP) ; Babik, M (CERN) ; Campana, S (CERN) ; Girolamo, A Di (CERN) ; Wildish, T (CERN) ; Closier, J (CERN) ; Roiser, S (CERN) ; Grigoras, C (CERN) ; Vukotic, I (CERN) ; Salichos, M (CERN) et al.
The Worldwide LHC Computing Grid relies on the network as a critical part of its infrastructure and therefore needs to guarantee effective network usage and prompt detection and resolution of any network issues, including connection failures, congestion, traffic routing, etc. The WLCG Network and Transfer Metrics project aims to integrate and combine all network-related monitoring data collected by the WLCG infrastructure. Debugging Data Transfers in CMS / Bagliesi, G (INFN, Pisa ; CERN) ; Belforte, S (INFN, Trieste) ; Bloom, K (Nebraska U.) ; Bockelman, B (Nebraska U.) ; Bonacorsi, D (Bologna U. ; INFN, Bologna) ; Fisk, I (Fermilab) ; Flix, J (PIC, Bellaterra ; Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Hernandez, J (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; D'Hondt, J (Vrije U., Brussels) ; Kadastik, M (NICPB, Tallinn) et al.
The CMS experiment at CERN is preparing for LHC data taking in several computing preparation activities. In early 2007 a traffic load generator infrastructure for distributed data transfer tests called the LoadTest was designed and deployed to equip the WLCG sites that support CMS with a means for debugging, load-testing and commissioning data transfer routes among CMS computing centres. Dashboard applications to monitor experiment activities at sites / Andreeva, J (CERN) ; Belforte, S (INFN, Trieste) ; Boehm, M (Hewlett-Packard) ; Casajus, A (Barcelona U.) ; Flix, J (PIC, Bellaterra) ; Gaidioz, B (CERN) ; Grigoras, C (CERN) ; Kokoszkiewicz, L (CERN) ; Lanciotti, E (CERN) ; Rocha, R (CERN) et al.
In the framework of a distributed computing environment, such as WLCG, monitoring has a key role in order to keep under control activities going on in sites located in different countries and involving people based in many different sites. To be able to cope with such a large scale heterogeneous infrastructure, it is necessary to have monitoring tools providing a complete and reliable view of the overall performance of the sites. [...]

Establishing efficient and scalable operations of the CMS distributed computing system critically relies on the proper integration, commissioning and scale testing of the data and workload management tools, the various computing workflows and the underlying computing infrastructure, located at more than 50 computing centres worldwide and interconnected by the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid. Computing challenges periodically undertaken by CMS in the past years with increasing scale and complexity have revealed the need for a sustained effort on computing integration and commissioning activities.
