Impact of a Higgs boson at a mass of 126 GeV on the standard model with three and four fermion generations / Eberhardt, Otto (KIT, Karlsruhe, TTP) ; Herbert, Geoffrey (Humboldt U., Berlin) ; Lacker, Heiko (Humboldt U., Berlin) ; Lenz, Alexander (CERN ; Durham U.) ; Menzel, Andreas (Humboldt U., Berlin) ; Nierste, Ulrich (KIT, Karlsruhe, TTP) ; Wiebusch, Martin (KIT, Karlsruhe, TTP)
We perform a comprehensive statistical analysis of the standard model (SM) with three and four generations using the latest Higgs search results from LHC and Tevatron, the electroweak precision observables (EWPOs) measured at LEP and SLD and the latest determinations of M_W, m_t and alpha_s. For the three-generation case we analyse the tensions in the electroweak fit by removing individual observables from the fit and comparing their predicted values with the measured ones. [...]

Status of the fourth fermion generation before ICHEP2012: Higgs data and electroweak precision observables / Eberhardt, Otto (KIT, Karlsruhe, TTP) ; Lenz, Alexander (CERN) ; Menzel, Andreas (Humboldt U., Berlin) ; Nierste, Ulrich (KIT, Karlsruhe, TTP) ; Wiebusch, Martin (KIT, Karlsruhe, TTP)
We perform a global fit of the parameters of the Standard Model with a sequential fourth generation (SM4) to LHC and Tevatron Higgs data and electroweak precision data. We find that the minimal chi-square value of the SM4 is larger than that of the Standard Model with three generations (SM3) by 8 units. [...]

Joint analysis of Higgs decays and electroweak precision observables in the Standard Model with a sequential fourth generation / Eberhardt, Otto (KIT, Karlsruhe, TTP) ; Herbert, Geoffrey (Humboldt U., Berlin) ; Lacker, Heiko (Humboldt U., Berlin) ; Lenz, Alexander (CERN) ; Menzel, Andreas (Humboldt U., Berlin) ; Nierste, Ulrich (KIT, Karlsruhe, TTP) ; Wiebusch, Martin (KIT, Karlsruhe, TTP)
We analyse the impact of LHC and Tevatron Higgs data on the viability of the Standard Model with a sequential fourth generation (SM4), assuming Dirac neutrinos and a Higgs mass of 125 GeV. To this end we perform a combined fit to the signal cross sections of pp -> H -> gamma gamma,ZZ*,WW* at the LHC, to p pbar -> VH -> V b bbar (V = W, Z) at the Tevatron and to the electroweak precision observables. [...]

SM Higgs searches by CMS at the LHC / Kirsanov, Mikhail (Dubna, JINR) /CMS Collaboration
Results are presented from searches for the standard model (SM) Higgs boson in proton-proton collisions at the CM energies of 7 and 8 TeV in five decay modes: $\gamma \gamma$, $ZZ$, $WW$, $\tau \tau$, and $b \bar b$. The analysed data correspond to integrated luminosities of up to 5.1 $fb^{-1}$ at 7 TeV and up to 12.2 $fb^{-1}$ at 8 TeV. [...]

Is the resonance at 125 GeV the Higgs boson? / Giardino, Pier Paolo (Pisa U. ; INFN, Pisa) ; Kannike, Kristjan (Pisa, Scuola Normale Superiore ; INFN, Pisa ; NICPB, Tallinn) ; Raidal, Martti (NICPB, Tallinn ; CERN ; Tartu, Inst. Phys.) ; Strumia, Alessandro (Pisa U. ; INFN, Pisa ; NICPB, Tallinn)
The recently discovered resonance at 125 GeV has properties remarkably close to those of the Standard Model Higgs boson. We perform model-independent fits of all presently available data. [...]

Constraints on a fourth generation of fermions from Higgs Boson searches / Lenz, Alexander (Durham U., IPPP ; CERN)
We review the past and current status of the extension of the standard model (SM) by a fourth generation of fermions. In particular the new results for Higgs boson searches at the LHC and at Tevatron exclude the possibility of having simply a perturbative fourth generation of fermions with one Higgs doublet (SM4). [...]

Combination of standard model Higgs boson searches and measurements of the properties of the new boson with a mass near 125 GeV /CMS Collaboration
Results are presented from searches for the standard model (SM) Higgs boson in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 and 8 TeV, using data samples corresponding to integrated luminosities of up to 5.1 fb$^{-1}$ at 7 TeV and up to 12.2 fb$^{-1}$ at 8 TeV. The search is performed in the mass range 110--1000~GeV in five decay modes: $\gamma\gamma$, ZZ, WW, $\tau \tau$, and bb. [...]

Updated measurements of the Higgs boson at 125 GeV in the two photon decay channel /CMS Collaboration
Results are reported from a search for the Standard Model Higgs boson in the two photon channel in the mass range $110 < m_H < 150$ GeV, using the full dataset recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC from pp collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The most sensitive, MVA, analysis observes an excess of events at a mass of 125 GeV, with a local significance of 3.2$\sigma$ (standard deviations), where a local significance of 4.2$\sigma$ is expected from a standard model Higgs boson.
