Central tracking detector concepts for the CLIC $e^{+} e^{-}$ collider / Frey, Ariane
Two possible concepts for a large central tracker for a future CLIC detector are discussed, including a large TPC and a full Silicon Tracker. The expected performance of a proposed Silicon Tracker is evaluated at square root s=3 TeV using a GEANT simulation. [...]

A track finding algorithm based on pixel detector for the ATLAS second level trigger / Baratella, A ; Dameri, M ; Morettini, P ; Parodi, F
A fast track reconstruction algorithm for the ATLAS second level trigger is presented. The timing performance (3.5 ms for a jet reconstruction at low luminosity) is satisfactory; the transverse impact parameter resolution (75 mu m) is sufficient to perform an on- line b-tagging, and the full three-dimensional reconstruction produces good seeds for more sophisticated track searches. [...]

Particle identification in ALICE at the LHC / Paic, G
The study of midrapidity emission of hadrons in heavy-ion collisions at the Large Hadron Collider necessitates particle identification in order to study the details of the hadronized system. The ALICE experiment, devoted to the study of heavy-ion collisions at the LHC, has therefore designed its central part around a robust and complex particle identification system that will span from the lowest momenta measurable to ~2.5 GeV/c for the kaon identification. Some aspects of ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions, complex forms of strangeness / Coffin, J P /ALICE Collaboration
The capabilities of the detectors STAR at RHIC and ALICE at LHC for measuring complex forms of strangeness, in the mid rapidity region, are examined as a function of the lifetime of these objects. The simulations are run on the basis of instrumental performances of these detectors as well as on recent theoretical speculations. [...]

ATLAS detector overview and progress / Dowell, John D /ATLAS Collaboration
A brief outline is given of the physics goals and the conceptual design of the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider together with some details of the collaboration composition and project management. Each of the subdetector systems and their performance are summarised and the state of progress towards final construction are then discussed. [...]
