Neutron capture cross section of $^{90}$Zr : Bottleneck in the s-process reaction flow / n_TOF Collaboration
The neutron capture cross sections of the Zr isotopes have important implications in nuclear astrophysics and for reactor design. The small cross section of the neutron magic nucleus 90Zr, which accounts for more than 50% of natural zirconium represents one of the key isotopes for the stellar s-process, because it acts as a bottleneck in the neutron capture chain between the Fe seed and the heavier isotopes. Neutron reactions and nuclear cosmo-chronology / Mosconi, M ; Fitzpatrick, L (CERN) ; Herrera-Martínez, A (CERN) ; Sarchiapone, L (CERN)
The β-decay of 187Re represents a suited cosmo-chronometer for the age of the r-process abundances, since the radiogenic part of the daughter isotope 187Os is defined by the difference between the solar 187Os abundance and s-process contribution to 187Os. The latter component can be determined via the s-process systematics based on the stellar neutron capture cross sections of 186Os and 187Os. [...]

The Role of Fe and Ni for S-process Nucleosynthesis and Innovative Nuclear Technologies / Giubrone, G (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Ventura, A (ENEA, Bologna, Italy.) ; Perkowski, J (Lodz U.) ; Andriamonje, S (CERN) ; Carrapico, C (ITN, Lisbon) ; Wallner, A (U. Vienna (main)) ; Vannini, G (INFN, Bologna ; Bologna U.) ; Quesada, J M (Seville U.) ; Lederer, C (U. Vienna (main)) ; Tarrio, D (Santiago de Compostela U.) et al.
The accurate measurement of neutron capture cross sections of all Fe and Ni isotopes is important for disentangling the contribution of the s-process and the r-process to the stellar nucleosynthesis of elements in the mass range 60 < A < 120. At the same time, Fe and Ni are important components of structural materials and improved neutron cross section data is relevant in the design of new nuclear systems. [...]

Neutron capture cross section of $^{232}Th$ measured at the nTOF facility at CERN in the unresolved resonance region up to 1 MeV / n_TOF Collaboration
We have measured the neutron capture reaction yield of /sup 232energy range from 1 eV to 1 MeV. The average capture cross section has been extracted in the energy range from 4 keV up to 1 MeV with an overall accuracy better than 4%. [...]

Measurement of the Neutron Capture Cross Section of the Fissile Isotope 235U with the CERN n_TOF Total Absorption Calorimeter and a Fission Tagging Based on Micromegas Detectors / Balibrea, J ; Mendoza, E ; Cano-Ott, D ; Guerrero, C ; Berthoumieux, E ; Altstadt, S ; Andrzejewski, J ; Audouin, L ; Barbagallo, M ; Bécares, V et al.
Current and future nuclear technologies require more accurate nuclear data on (n,γ) cross sections and the α-ratios of fissile isotopes. Their measurement presents several difficulties, mainly related to the strong fission γ-ray background competing with the weaker γ-ray cascades used as the experimental signature of the (n,γ) process. Neutron capture on (94)Zr: Resonance parameters and Maxwellian-averaged cross sections / Tagliente, G (Gent U. ; INFN, Bari) ; Milazzo, P.M (INFN, Trieste) ; Fujii, K (INFN, Trieste) ; Abbondanno, U (INFN, Trieste) ; Aerts, G (DAPNIA, Saclay) ; Alvarez, H (Santiago de Compostela U.) ; Alvarez-Velarde, F (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Andriamonje, S (DAPNIA, Saclay) ; Andrzejewski, J (Lodz U.) ; Audouin, L (Karlsruhe, Forschungszentrum) et al.
The neutron capture cross sections of the Zr isotopes play an important role in nucleosynthesis studies. The s-process reaction flow between the Fe seed and the heavier isotopes passes through the neutron magic nucleus (90)Zr and through (91,92,93,94)Zr, but only part of the flow extends to (96)Zr because of the branching point at (95)Zr.
