Emittance growth studies due to Crab Cavity induced amplitude noise in the SPS / Fornara, Andrea (Manchester U. ; CERN) ; Trad, Georges (CERN) ; Sterbini, Guido (CERN) ; Bartosik, Hannes (CERN) ; Triantafyllou, Natalia (CERN) ; Baudrenghien, Philippe (CERN) ; Calaga, Rama (CERN) ; Appleby, Robert (Manchester U.) ; Kostoglou, Sofia (CERN) ; Levens, Thomas (CERN) et al.
In the context of the HL-LHC upgrade, RF Crab Cavities (CCs) are one of the key components to achieve the target integrated luminosity. Due to the increased bunch intensity, the collider will operate with a large crossing angle scheme to alleviate the long-range beam-beam effect. [...]

Cover not available Interim report for the International Muon Collider Collaboration / Accettura, C.
The International Muon Collider Collaboration (IMCC) [1] was established in 2020 following the recommendations of the European Strategy for Particle Physics (ESPP) and the implementation of the European Strategy for Particle Physics-Accelerator R&D Roadmap by the Laboratory Directors Group [2], [...]

Slow Extraction Techniques from Fixed Field Accelerators / Taylor, R (Imperial Coll., London ; CERN) ; Steinberg, A F (Manchester U. ; Melbourne U. ; Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. Tech.) ; Pasternak, J (Imperial Coll., London) ; Appleby, R B (Manchester U. ; Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. Tech.) ; Sheehy, S L (Melbourne U. ; ANSTO, Menai) ; Benedetto, E (Unlisted, CH ; CERN)
Fixed Field Accelerators are a candidate for future hadron cancer therapy facilities as their high repetition rate and large energy acceptance enables novel treatment modalities such as high dose rate FLASH. However, conventional dose delivery mechanisms are still necessary, requiring continuous beam delivery over 1--30s. [...]

Impact of Crab Cavity RF noise on the transverse beam profiles in the HL-LHC / Fornara, A (U. Manchester (main)) ; Appleby, R (U. Manchester (main)) ; Sterbini, G (CERN)
Crab Cavities (CCs) are a key component for the HL-LHC luminosity upgrade. To significantly reduce the Long-Range Beam-Beam (LRBB) effects a large crossing angle scheme is needed . [...]

Energy deposition studies for the Upgrade II of LHCb at the CERN Large Hadron Collider / Ciccotelli, Alessia (CERN ; U. Manchester (main) ; Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. Tech.) ; Appleby, Robert B. (U. Manchester (main) ; Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. Tech.) ; Cerutti, Francesco (CERN) ; Buffet, Kevin (CERN) ; Butin, Francois (CERN) ; Corti, Gloria (CERN) ; Esposito, Luigi Salvatore (CERN) ; Garcia Alia, Ruben (CERN) ; Karacson, Matthias (CERN) ; Lerner, Giuseppe (CERN) et al.
The Upgrade II of the LHCb experiment is proposed to be installed during the CERN Long Shutdown 4, aiming to operate LHCb at 1.5x$10^{34}cm^{-2}s^{-1}$ that is 75 times its design luminosity and reaching an integrated luminosity of about $400 fb^{-1}$ by the end of the High Luminosity LHC era. This increase of the data sample at LHCb is an unprecedented opportunity for heavy flavour physics measurements. [...]

Energy deposition studies for the LHCb insertion region of the CERN Large Hadron Collider / Ciccotelli, Alessia (Manchester U. ; CERN) ; Appleby, Robert B (Manchester U.) ; Cerutti, Francesco (CERN) ; Bilko, Kacper (CERN) ; Esposito, Luigi Salvatore (CERN) ; Garcia Alia, Ruben (CERN) ; Lechner, Anton (CERN) ; Tsinganis, Andrea (CERN)
The LHCb (Large Hadron Collider beauty) experiment at CERN LHC aims at achieving a significantly higher luminosity than originally planned by means of two major upgrades: the Upgrade I that took place during the Long Shutdown 2 (LS2) and the Upgrade II proposed for LS4. Such an increase in instantaneous and integrated luminosity with respect to the design values requires to reassess the radiation exposure of LHC magnets, cryogenics, and electronic equipment placed in the insertion region 8 (IR8) around LHCb. IMPACTS OF STRONGLY CURVED MAGNETIC MULTIPOLES ON COMPACT SYNCHROTRON DYNAMICS / Norman, H X Q (University of Manchester, Manchester, UK and Cockcroft Institute, Warrington, UK and University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia) ; Appleby, R B (Univrsity of Manchester, Manchester, UK and Cockcroft Institute, Warrington, UK) ; Sheehy, S L (Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO), Australia) ; Benedetto, Elena (SEEIIST Association (CH))
Superconducting curved magnets can reduce accelerator footprints by producing strong fields (>3 T) for applications such as carbon ion therapy, however the effect of strongly curved magnetic multipoles and fringe fields on accelerator beam dynamics is not fully understood. [...]

Long term stability studies in the presence of crab cavities and high order multipoles in the CERN super proton synchrotron and high luminosity large hadron collider / Alekou, A (CERN ; Manchester U.) ; Appleby, R B (Manchester U.) ; Cruz-Alaniz, E (CERN ; U. Liverpool (main)) ; Bartosik, H (CERN) ; Carlà, M (CERN) ; Kostoglou, S (CERN) ; Papaphilippou, Y (CERN)
In 2018 the world’s first Crab Cavity (CC) experiments with protons were successfully performed, aiming to study the CC effect on a proton beam and evaluate the engineering challenges. Before the commencement of these experiments, the impact of the CCs and their multipoles on the long term particle stability of the SPS was studied using dynamic aperture simulations. [...]
