Characterisation of irradiated thin silicon sensors for the CMS phase II pixel upgrade / Adam, W (Vienna, OAW) ; Bergauer, T (Vienna, OAW) ; Brondolin, E (Vienna, OAW) ; Dragicevic, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Friedl, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Frühwirth, R (Vienna, OAW) ; Hoch, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Hrubec, J (Vienna, OAW) ; König, A (Vienna, OAW) ; Steininger, H (Vienna, OAW) et al. /Tracker Group
The high luminosity upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider, foreseen for 2026, necessitates the replacement of the CMS experiment’s silicon tracker. The innermost layer of the new pixel detector will be exposed to severe radiation, corresponding to a 1 MeV neutron equivalent fluence of up to $\Phi _{eq} = 2 \times 10^{16}$  cm$^{-2}$ , and an ionising dose of ${\approx } 5$  MGy after an integrated luminosity of 3000 fb$^{-1}$ . P-Type Silicon Strip Sensors for the new CMS Tracker at HL-LHC / Adam, W (Vienna, OAW) ; Bergauer, T (Vienna, OAW) ; Brondolin, E (Vienna, OAW) ; Dragicevic, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Friedl, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Frühwirth, R (Vienna, OAW) ; Hoch, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Hrubec, J (Vienna, OAW) ; König, A (Vienna, OAW) ; Steininger, H (Vienna, OAW) et al. /CMS
The upgrade of the LHC to the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) is expected to increase the LHC design luminosity by an order of magnitude. This will require silicon tracking detectors with a significantly higher radiation hardness. [...]

Test Beam Performance Measurements for the Phase I Upgrade of the CMS Pixel Detector / Dragicevic, M. (Vienna, OAW) ; Friedl, M. (Vienna, OAW) ; Hrubec, J. (Vienna, OAW) ; Steininger, H. (Helsinki Inst. of Phys.) ; Tuominen, E. (Helsinki Inst. of Phys.) et al.
A new pixel detector for the CMS experiment is being built, owing to the instantaneous luminosities anticipated for the Phase I Upgrade of the LHC. The new CMS pixel detector provides four-hit tracking while featuring a reduced material budget as well as new cooling and powering schemes. [...]

Impact of low-dose electron irradiation on n+p silicon strip sensors / Tracker Group of the CMS Collaboration
The response of n+p silicon strip sensors to electrons from a Sr-90 source was measured using a multi-channel read-out system with 25 ns sampling time. The measurements were performed over a period of several weeks, during which the operating conditions were varied. [...]

Trapping in irradiated p-on-n silicon sensors at fluences anticipated at the HL-LHC outer tracker / Adam, W. (Vienna, OAW) ; Bergauer, T. (Vienna, OAW) ; Dragicevic, M. (Vienna, OAW) ; Friedl, M. (Vienna, OAW) et al. /CMS Tracker Group
The degradation of signal in silicon sensors is studied under conditions expected at the CERN High-Luminosity LHC. 200 $\mu$m thick n-type silicon sensors are irradiated with protons of different energies to fluences of up to $3 \cdot 10^{15}$ neq/cm$^2$. [...]

Description and performance of track and primary-vertex reconstruction with the CMS tracker / CMS Collaboration
A description is provided of the software algorithms developed for the CMS tracker both for reconstructing charged-particle trajectories in proton-proton interactions and for using the resulting tracks to estimate the positions of the LHC luminous region and individual primary-interaction vertices. Despite the very hostile environment at the LHC, the performance obtained with these algorithms is found to be excellent. [...]

Alignment of the CMS tracker with LHC and cosmic ray data / CMS Collaboration
The central component of the CMS detector is the largest silicon tracker ever built. The precise alignment of this complex device is a formidable challenge, and only achievable with a significant extension of the technologies routinely used for tracking detectors in the past. [...]
