Manufacturing of the EuCARD2 Roebel-Based Cos-Theta Coils at CEA Saclay / Durante, Maria (U. Paris-Saclay) ; Lorin, Clement (U. Paris-Saclay) ; Lecrevisse, Thibault (U. Paris-Saclay) ; Segreti, Michel (U. Paris-Saclay) ; Kirby, Glyn (CERN) ; Nugteren, Jeroen Van (CERN)
In the framework of the FP7 EuCARD2 project, CEA Saclay developed a cos-theta insert magnet, wound with REBCO high temperature superconductor Roebel cable. Each dipole coil consists of a single arched layer of conductors, insulated with a glass fiber sleeve and impregnated with epoxy resin for mechanical reinforcement. [...]

EuroCirCol 16 T Block-Coils Dipole Option for the Future Circular Collider / Lorin, Clement (Saclay) ; Durante, Durante (Saclay) ; Segreti, Michel (Saclay)
EuroCirCol is a conceptual design study for a post-LHC research infrastructure based on an energy-frontier 100 TeV circular hadron collider. In the frame of the high field accelerator magnet design work package of this study, three different layouts for double-aperture dipole magnets made of Nb$_{3}$Sn conductors and providing a field of 16 T in a 50-mm aperture are being considered: block-coils, common-coils, and cosine-theta. Status of the 16 T Dipole Development Program for a Future Hadron Collider / Tommasini, Davide (CERN) ; Arbelaez, Diego (LBL, Berkeley) ; Auchmann, Bernhard (CERN) ; Bajas, Hugues (CERN) ; Bajko, Marta (CERN) ; Ballarino, Amalia (CERN) ; Barzi, Emanuela (Fermilab) ; Bellomo, Giovanni (INFN, Milan) ; Benedikt, Michael (CERN) ; Izquierdo Bermudez, Susana (CERN) et al.
A next step of energy increase of hadron colliders beyond the LHC requires high-field superconducting magnets capable of providing a dipolar field in the range of 16 T in a 50-mm aperture with accelerator quality. These characteristics could meet the requirements for an upgrade of the LHC to twice the present beam energy or for a 100-TeV center of mass energy future circular collider. [...]

The 16 T Dipole Development Program for FCC / Tommasini, Davide (CERN) ; Auchmann, B (CERN) ; Bajas, Hugues (CERN) ; Bajko, Marta (CERN) ; Ballarino, Amalia (CERN) ; Bellomo, Giovanni (INFN, Milan) ; Benedikt, Michael (CERN) ; Izquierdo Bermudez, Susana (CERN) ; Bordini, Bernardo (CERN) ; Bottura, Luca (CERN) et al.
Abstract: A key challenge for a future circular collider (FCC) with centre-of-mass energy of 100 TeV and a circumference in the range of 100 km is the development of high-field superconducting accelerator magnets, capable of providing a 16 T dipolar field of accelerator quality in a 50 mm aperture. This paper summarizes the strategy and actions being undertaken in the framework of the FCC 16 T Magnet Technology Program and the Work Package 5 of the EuroCirCol..
