We present the 1st results of the event-by-event study of long-range correlations between event mean Pt and charged particle multiplicity using NA49 experimental data in two separated rapidity intervals in 158 A *Ge V Pb Pb collisions at the CERN SPS. Noticeable long range correlations are found. [...]

This report reviews the study of open heavy-flavour and quarkonium production in high-energy hadronic collisions, as tools to investigate fundamental aspects of Quantum Chromodynamics, from the proton and nucleus structure at high energy to deconfinement and the properties of the Quark-Gluon Plasma. Emphasis is given to the lessons learnt from LHC Run 1 results, which are reviewed in a global picture with the results from SPS and RHIC at lower energies, as well as to the questions to be addressed in the future. Femtoscopy of $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}$=0.9 and 7 TeV at the LHC with two-pion Bose-Einstein correlations / ALICE Collaboration
We report on the high statistics two-pion correlation functions from pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$=0.9 TeV and $\sqrt{s}$=7 TeV, measured by the ALICE experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. The correlation functions as well as the extracted source radii scale with event multiplicity and pair momentum. [...]

Two-pion Bose-Einstein correlations in central PbPb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
The first measurement of two-pion Bose--Einstein correlations in central PbPb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider is presented. We observe a growing trend with energy now not only for the longitudinal and the outward but also for the sideward pion source radius. [...]

Production of pions, kaons and protons in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 900 GeV with ALICE at the LHC / ALICE Collaboration
The production of $\pi^+, pi^-, K^+, K^-$, p, and $\bar{p}$ at mid-rapidity has been measured in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 900 GeV with the ALICE detector. Particle identification is performed using the specific energy loss in the inner tracking silicon detector and the time projection chamber. [...]

Centrality dependence of the charged-particle multiplicity density at mid-rapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
The centrality dependence of the charged-particle multiplicity density at mid-rapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV is presented. The charged-particle density normalized per participating nucleon pair increases by about a factor 2 from peripheral (70-80%) to central (0-5%) collisions. [...]

Suppression of Charged Particle Production at Large Transverse Momentum in Central Pb--Pb Collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
Inclusive transverse momentum spectra of primary charged particles in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV have been measured by the ALICE Collaboration at the LHC. The data are presented for central and peripheral collisions, corresponding to 0-5% and 70-80% of the hadronic Pb-Pb cross section. [...]

Strange particle production in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 0.9 TeV with ALICE at the LHC / ALICE Collaboration
The production of mesons containing strange quarks (K0 S, f ) and both singly and doubly strange baryons (L, L, and X−+X+) are measured at central rapidity in pp collisions at √s = 0.9 TeV with the ALICE experiment at the LHC. The results are obtained from the analysis of about 250 k minimum bias events recorded in 2009 [...]

Charged-particle multiplicity density at mid-rapidity in central Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
The first measurement of the charged-particle multiplicity density at mid-rapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair sqrt(sNN) = 2.76 TeV is presented. For an event sample corresponding to the most central 5% of the hadronic cross section the pseudo-rapidity density of primary charged particles at mid-rapidity is 1584 +- 4 (stat) +- 76 (sys.), which corresponds to 8.3 +- 0.4 (sys.) per participating nucleon pair.
