Funkcija

Protein kodiran ovim genom je član potporodice SEC24 porodice SEC23/SEC24, koja je uključena u promet vezikula. Kodirani protein je sličan komponenti Sec24p kvasca u COPII. COPII je kompleks proteina omotača, odgovoran za pupanje vezikula iz ER. Uloga ovog genskog proizvoda je implicirana u oblikovanju vezikula, kao i u selekciji i koncentraciji tereta. Za ovaj gen su pronađene dvije varijante transkripta koje kodiraju različite izoforme.[7]
