Ian Bremner played a solitary game for Collingwood in 1966 before crossing to Hawthorn and becoming a tough, dependable half back flanker who gave the Hawks great service over 158 games and 10 seasons. He was part of the 1971 premiership side and capped his VFL career in the best possible way by winning a second flag in his last VFL match, the 1976 Grand Final.
Bremner then moved to Tasmania and had a stint coaching North Hobart in the TANFL for the 1977 and 1978 seasons.
