Australian Football

Little is known about the West Australian Football Club other than that it endured an ignominious two season stint in the Western Australian Football Association, finishing last in both 1887 and 1888. The club was admitted to the competition as a replacement for the original Fremantle club, which had lasted just two seasons, and was the reigning premier. During its own two season involvement in the competition the West Australian Football Club managed just 3 wins and a draw from 17 matches for an overall success rate of 20.6%.

It merged with Victorians in 1889 to form Metropolitans, which in turn survived only two seasons. From its ashes grew West Perth, formed in 1891.
