Rayden Tallis debuted with the Hawks in 1994, earning a Norwich Rising Star nomination over the course of what was a highly promising inaugural campaign. Much of his time was spent as a permanent back pocket but he could also function well as a midfield tagger. The 1996 season saw his progress stalled by a series of nagging injuries and over the next three seasons he played a lot of football with the reserves. In 2000, under the coaching of Peter Schwab, his career suddenly blossomed, and Tallis later admitted that he had struggled to adapt to the techniques and tactics espoused by Schwab's predecessor as coach, Ken Judge.
Rayden Tallis retired at the end of the 2004 season having played 163 AFL games and kicked 27 goals.
