Harry Cope’s actual first name was Waratah, but he was always referred to as Harry. In 1905 and 1906 he played 25 VFA games and scored one goal for Port Melbourne before crossing to Melbourne in the VFL. Mostly deployed as a centreman, he was also sometimes used on a wing, over the course of a seven season, 52 game, six goal career.
