At just 165cm and 59kg Dick Logan was one of the smallest footballers ever to play at the game’s elite level. He joined Hawthorn from Box Hill in 1926 and was a regular senior player for the next five seasons, playing 58 VFL games and scoring 35 goals. In 1931-2 he continued to play with Hawthorn’s seconds, and in the latter season he claimed the Gardiner Medal as the best and fairest player in the competition.
