The final match for the weekend was out bay-side, the Tigers locking horns with the Redlegs under the lights of Gliderol Stadium at Glenelg. The last contest between these two clubs was a Redleg victory, back in Round 6 the Tigers were competitive early before gradually falling away to a 31-point loss on a Friday night at The Parade. Its been a bumpy few weeks for both sides, last weekend they were both defeated but while the Redlegs went down to West by less than a kick it was Glenelg that came off worst after a 97-point demolition by the unfancied Centrals.
It was the Redlegs that looked the hungrier outfit in the opening quarter, the Tigers fluffing several shots on goal for the visitors to lead by 14 points at the first change with a scorecard of 6.1 to 2.5. The Tigers managed to scratch some points off that gap by half-time, inaccuracy stopping them from being in front at the main break. They kicked 3.5 to 2.2, bringing the Redlegs' lead down to 11 points. The rain would start to fall when play restarted for the second half, but that wouldn't stop Norwood from forging ahead once more, re-establishing their dominance from the first term as they scored 6.2 to the Tigers' 3.1 to take their lead out to five goals by three quarter-time. Don't let the eventual Norwood victory fool you, the Tigers were an improved outfit compared to last week. The visitors would add on a further three goals to Glenelg's 1.1 to win by 41 points, keeping their grip on fourth spot for another week or two and pressure on the Blues for their spot.
Matt Panos took out best on ground honours for Norwood, the Tigers named Matt Snook as their best.
