We head down The Parade for some Friday night mayhem, Coopers Stadium lighting up for the match between the Redlegs and the Double Blues. The last encounter between these sides was one to forget for Sturt fans, a 78-point thrashing at Adelaide Oval in Round 2.
Sturt were competitive early on, a four goal to 5.1 first quarter effort saw them behind by just seven points at the first change. But just like at Adelaide Oval, Norwood would begin systematically tearing the Blues apart and wouldn't stop. The punishment began with the Redlegs booting 7.1 to Sturt's rather limp one goal response. At the half-time break, the Redlegs were out to a 44-point lead and weren't finished there. When play resumed, so did the pain as the 'Legs added a further 5.4 to the Blues' 2.2 to put the margin out to 64-points. That would be the final margin as both sides scored 4.1 in the final quarter.
Luke Jericho hardened up and kicked five goals but it was Kieran McGuinness that took out best afield votes for the Redlegs, while the Blues named Luke Crane as their best.
