The ABC television match of the round would see the cameras head down bayside to Gliderol Stadium as the Tigers took on the Eagles. It was Round 22 when these two last locked horns, the Bays taking a 26-point win. The Eagles had just one loss on the board for this season and despite the Dogs winning at the Bay, for others its still a hard task.
The first quarter was a goal-fest, Glenelg's inaccuracy the only thing stopping a big quarter-time margin. The Tigers kicked 5.7 to the Eagles' 5.1 to set a one-goal gap at the first change. The inaccuracy bug seemed to jump camps in the second term as the Eagles skewed several shots, but the Tigers didn't get too far themselves as they extended the gap to seven points by half-time after kicking 2.1 to 1.6. When play resumed, the Tigers launched an all-out assault on the Eagles and kicked a game-breaking 8.2 to 3.2. This blew the gap out to 37 points at three quarter-time. The Tigers took it easy from here, but still maintaned their scoreboard distance as they kicked 3.4 to the Eagles' 3.2 as they posted a 39-point win.
Josh Carr was voted best for the Tigers, while the Eagles voted in Justin Cicolella as their standout.
