What is a  subprocessor?

A subprocessor is a third-party engaged by Asana and/or Asana affiliates to process personal data about Asana customers.

Why does Asana use subprocessors?

Our infrastructure subprocessors include Asana’s cloud service providers and data centers in order to store and process customer data.

Our analytics subprocessors provide Asana with data warehouses to store and process relevant customer data and analytics data to optimize product functionality and services we provide to our customers.

Our customer support subprocessors provide Asana with services to provide customer and sales support.

Our feature-specific subprocessors allow Asana to provide certain features to our customers such as AI functionality and video messaging. Other subprocessors we utilize allow us to offer customer support and help our business meet our customers’ needs.

Do you have Data Processing/Protection Agreements (“DPAs”) in place with subprocessors?

As a condition of permitting a subprocessor to process personal data, Asana (and its affiliates as applicable) will enter into a written agreement with each subprocessor containing data protection obligations at least as protective as the technical and organizational measures Asana has put into place to protect customer personal data from accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, or unauthorized disclosure or access.

Do you have Standard Contractual Clauses (“SCCs”) in place with subprocessors and affiliates?

Asana, Inc. and its affiliates have entered into a data transfer agreement that sets out the data protection requirements and incorporates the appropriate EU Standard Contractual Clauses (“SCCs”).

Our subprocessors may rely on transfer mechanisms such as adequacy decisions, data privacy frameworks, or SCCs. To the extent applicable, Asana will maintain transfer mechanisms (including SCCs) in order to ensure lawful data transfers.
