First Alignment of the CMS Tracker and Implications for the First Collision Data / Hauk, Johannes (DESY) /for the CMS Tracker Alignment Collaboration
We present the first results of the full CMS Silicon Tracker alignment based on several million reconstructed tracks from the cosmic data taken during the commissioning runs with the detector in its final position. Implication for CMS physics performance is discussed. [...]

Test beam results of the first CMS double-sided strip module prototypes using the CBC2 read-out chip / Harb, Ali (DESY) ; Mussgiller, Andreas (DESY) ; Hauk, Johannes (DESY) /CMS Collaboration
The CMS Binary Chip (CBC) is a prototype version of the front-end read-out ASIC to be used in the silicon strip modules of the CMS outer tracking detector during the high luminosity phase of the LHC. The CBC is produced in 130 nm CMOS technology and bump-bonded to the hybrid of a double layer silicon strip module, the so-called 2S-$p_{T}$ module. [...]

Results and Prospects for $\mathrm{t\overline{t}H}$ at CMS / Hauk, Johannes (DESY) /CMS Collaboration
First results of associated top-quark pair and Higgs-boson production ($\mathrm{t\overline{t}H}$) at CMS from the LHC Run~2 era at centre-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}=13\,\mathrm{Te\hspace{-.08em}V}$ are presented. The $\mathrm{t\overline{t}H}$ process is the only one allowing a direct measurement of the top-Higgs coupling, which is an important test of the Standard Model (SM), and for searching new physics. Three analyses are performed and optimised individually according to different Higgs boson decays, and results are obtained in each for the signal strength~$\mu=\sigma/\sigma_{\mathrm{SM}}$ being the cross-section ratio of the measurement to the SM prediction. The diphoton decay $\mathrm{t\overline{t}H}$($\gamma\gamma$) results in $\mu=3.8^{+4.5}_{-3.6}$, the decays with leptons in the final state $\mathrm{t\overline{t}H}$(multileptons) in $\mu=0.6^{+1.4}_{-1.1}$, and the decay to a bottom quark pair $\mathrm{t\overline{t}H}$($\mathrm{b\overline{b}}$) yields $\mu=-2.0\pm1.8$. A combined result of $\mu_{\mathrm{t\overline{t}H}}=0.15^{+0.95}_{-0.81}$ is obtained from a fit to all three channels. No significant deviation from the SM is observed..

Measurement of Associated Z$^0$-Boson and b-Jet Production in Proton-Proton Collisions with the CMS Experiment / Hauk, Johannes (Hamburg U.)
In this thesis, data of proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energyof s = 7 TeV, delivered by LHC and recorded with the CMS experimentin 2010 and 2011, is used to perform one technical and two physics analyses. The technical one develops and uses a method to estimate the precisionof the knowledge of the true geometry of the CMS inner tracking system in2011 data [...]

Test beam demonstration of silicon microstrip modules with transverse momentum discrimination for the future CMS tracking detector / The CMS Tracker collaboration
A new CMS Tracker is under development for operation at the High Luminosity LHC from 2026 onwards. It includes an outer tracker based on dedicated modules that will reconstruct short track segments, called stubs, using spatially coincident clusters in two closely spaced silicon sensor layers. [...]
