Development of Collimation Simulations for the FCC-ee / Abramov, Andrey (CERN) ; Bruce, Roderik (CERN) ; Carlier, Felix (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Hofer, Michael (CERN) ; Iadarola, Giovanni (CERN) ; Nevay, Laurence (JAI, UK) ; Pieloni, Tatiana (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Rakic, Milica (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Redaelli, Stefano (CERN) ; White, Simon (ESRF, Grenoble)
A collimation system is under study for the FCC-ee to protect the machine from the multi-MJ electron and positron beams and limit the backgrounds to the detectors. One of the key aspects of the collimation system design is the setup of simulation studies combining particle tracking and scattering in the collimators. [...]

Collimation simulations for the FCC-ee / Abramov, A (CERN) ; Broggi, G (CERN) ; Bruce, R (CERN) ; Carlier, F (CERN) ; Hofer, M (CERN) ; Iadarola, G (CERN) ; Nevay, L J (CERN) ; Pieloni, T (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Rakic, M (CERN) ; Redaelli, S (CERN) et al.
The collimation system of the Future Circular Collider, operating with leptons (FCC-ee), must protect not only theexperiments against backgrounds, but also the machine itself frombeam losses. With a 17.8 MJ stored energy of the electron andpositron beams, they are highly destructive, and beam losses risk tocause damage or a quench of superconducting elements. [...]

Design of a Collimation Section for the FCC-ee / Hofer, Michael (CERN) ; Abramov, Andrey (CERN) ; Bruce, Roderik (CERN) ; Moudgalya, Maitreyee (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Oide, Katsunobu (CERN) ; Pieloni, Tatiana (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Zimmermann, Frank (CERN)
The design parameters of the FCC-ee foresee operation with a total stored beam energy of about 20 MJ, exceeding those of previous lepton colliders by almost two orders of magnitude. Given the inherent damage potential, a halo collimation system is studied to protect the machine hardware, in particular superconducting equipment such as the final focus quadrupoles, from sudden beam loss. Towards Beam-Beam Simulations for FCC-ee / Kicsiny, Peter (CERN ; Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Buffat, Xavier (CERN) ; Iadarola, Giovanni (CERN) ; Pieloni, Tatiana (EPFL-ISIC, Lausanne) ; Schulte, Daniel (CERN) ; Seidel, Mike (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne ; PSI, Villigen)
The FCC-ee (Future Circular Collider) lepton collider is currently the most favored next generation research infrastructure project at CERN, aimed at studying properties of standard model particles with the highest precision ever. The chosen parameters of the machine yield unprecedented conditions which give rise to previously unseen dynamical effects during collisions. [...]

Spin Polarization Simulations for the Future Circular Collider $e^+e^-$ using BMAD / Wu, Yi (EPFL-ISIC, Lausanne) ; Carlier, Felix (CERN) ; Pieloni, Tatiana (EPFL-ISIC, Lausanne) ; van Riesen-Haupt, Léon (EPFL-ISIC, Lausanne)
Measurements of particle properties with unprecedented accuracy in the Future Circular Collider e⁺e⁻ (FCC-ee) are reliant on the high precision center-of-mass energy calibration, which could be realized via resonant depolarization measurements. The obtainable equilibrium spin polarization levels under the influence of lattice imperfections should be estimated via spin polarization simulations. [...]

Impact of dipole quadrupolar errors in FCC-ee / García-Jaimes, C (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Pieloni, T (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; van Riesen-Haupt, L (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Seidel, M (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Tomás, R (CERN)
FCC-ee performance is challenged by magnetic errors and imperfections. Magnetic design simulations predict a systematic quadrupolar component in the arc dipoles significantly impacting the machine optics. [...]

With a circumference of approximately 91 km, the Future Circular electron-positron Collider, FCC-ee, aims for unprecedented luminosities at beam energies from 45.6 to 182.5 GeV. A major challenge is reaching its design performance in the presence of magnet misalignments and field errors. [...]

FCC-ee is a proposed lepton collider with a circumference close to 100 km to produce an unprecedented amount of luminosity. The FCC-ee optics tuning working group is addressing one of the most critical aspects of the FCC-ee, that is the recovery of the optics design performance in presence of realistic imperfections. Lattice correction and polarization estimation for the Future Circular Collider e+e- / Wu, Yi (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Carlier, Felix (CERN) ; van Riesen-Haupt, Léon (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Hofer, Michael (CERN) ; Seidel, Mike (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Pieloni, Tatiana (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Herr, Werner (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne)
Precise determination of the center-of-mass energy in the Future Circular Collider e+e- (FCC-ee) at Z and W energies can be achieved by employing resonant spin depolarization techniques, for which a sufficient level of transverse beam polarization is demanded under the presence of machine imperfections. In this study, the FCC-ee lattice has been modeled and simulated with a variety of realistic lattice imperfections, including misalignments, angular deviations, BPM errors, long-range errors, etc., along with refined orbit correction and tune matching procedures. The understanding of beam-beam effects, which influence the choice of the FCC-ee design parameters for several aspects, require sophisticated and high-performance numerical simulations. The self-consistent study of the interplay of nonlinear dynamical phenomena resulting from collisions in the machine is key to accurately assess its potential performance. [...]
