$J/\psi$ and $\psi'$ production and their normal nuclear absorption in proton-nucleus collisions at 400 GeV / NA50 Collaboration
We report a new measurement of J/psi, psi' and Drell-Yan cross-sections, in the kinematical domain $-0.425<y_{\rm cm}<0.575$ and $-0.5<\cos\theta_{\rm CS}<0.5$, performed at the CERN-SPS using 400 GeV/c incident protons on Be, Al, Cu, Ag, W and Pb targets. The dependence of the charmonia production cross-sections on the size of the target nucleus allows to quantify the so-called normal nuclear absorption. [...]

$\psi^{\prime}$ production in Pb-Pb collisions at 158 GeV/nucleon / NA50 Collaboration
$\psi{prime}$ production is studied in Pb-Pb collisions at 158 GeV/c per nucleon incident momentum. Absolute cross-sections are measured and production rates are investigated as a function of the centrality of the collision. [...]

Transverse momentum distribution of J/$\psi$ produced in Pb-Pb interactions at 158 GeV/c per nucleon / NA50 Collaboration
The production of dimuon in Pb-Pb collisions at 158 GeV/c per nucleon has been measured at the CERN SPS in experiment NA50. An anomalous suppression of $J/\psi$ production cross section has been observed in comparison with the value expected from the results obtained in proton and light ion induced reactions. [...]

Nuclear dependence of light neutral meson production in p-A collisions at 400 GeV with NA60 / NA60 collaboration
The NA60 experiment has studied low-mass muon pair production in proton-nucleus collisions with a system of Be, Cu, In, W, Pb and U targets, using a 400 GeV proton beam at the CERN SPS. The transverse momentum spectra of the $\rho/\omega$ and $\phi$ mesons are measured in the full $p_\mathrm{T}$ range accessible, from $p_\mathrm{T} = 0$ up to 2 GeV/$c$. [...]

Precision study of the $\eta \to \mu \mu \gamma$ and $\omega \to \mu + \mu \mu \pi^0$ electromagnetic transition form-factors and of the $\rho \to \mu \mu$ line shape in NA60 / NA60 Collaboration
The NA60 experiment studied low-mass muon pair production in proton-nucleus (p-A) collisions using a 400~GeV proton beam at the CERN SPS. The low-mass dimuon spectrum is well described by the superposition of the two-body and Dalitz decays of the light neutral mesons $\eta$, $\rho$, $\omega$, $\eta'$ and $\phi$, and no evidence of in-medium effects is found. This report reviews the study of open heavy-flavour and quarkonium production in high-energy hadronic collisions, as tools to investigate fundamental aspects of Quantum Chromodynamics, from the proton and nucleus structure at high energy to deconfinement and the properties of the Quark-Gluon Plasma. Emphasis is given to the lessons learnt from LHC Run 1 results, which are reviewed in a global picture with the results from SPS and RHIC at lower energies, as well as to the questions to be addressed in the future. High luminosity fixed-target experiment at the LHC / Hadjidakis, Cynthia (Orsay, IPN) ; Brodsky, S.J. (SLAC) ; Cavoto, G. (INFN, Rome ; Rome U.) ; Da Silva, C. (Los Alamos) ; Donato, F. By extracting the beam with a bent crystal or by using an internal gas target, the multi-TeV proton and lead LHC beams allow one to perform the most energetic fixed-target experiments ever and to study $pp$, $p$d and $p$A collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=115$ GeV and Pb$p$ and PbA collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=72$ GeV with high precision and modern detection techniques. Such studies would address open questions in the domain of the nucleon and nucleus partonic structure at high-$x$, quark-gluon plasma and, by using longitudinally or transversally polarised targets, spin physics. Physics perspectives with AFTER@LHC (A Fixed Target ExpeRiment at LHC) / Massacrier, L. (Orsay, IPN) ; Anselmino, M. (INFN, Turin ; Turin U.) ; Arnaldi, R. (INFN, Turin ; Turin U.) ; Brodsky, S.J. AFTER@LHC is an ambitious fixed-target project in order to address open questions in the domain of proton and neutron spins, Quark Gluon Plasma and high-$x$ physics, at the highest energy ever reached in the fixed-target mode. Indeed, thanks to the highly energetic 7 TeV proton and 2.76 A.TeV lead LHC beams, center-of-mass energies as large as $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 115 GeV in pp/pA and $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 72 GeV in AA can be reached, corresponding to an uncharted energy domain between SPS and RHIC.
