Letter of Intent: A Forward Calorimeter (FoCal) in the ALICE experiment
We propose a forward electromagnetic and hadronic calorimeter (FoCal) as an upgrade to the ALICE experiment, to be installed during LS3 for data-taking in 2027–2029 at the LHC [...]

A Forward Calorimeter (FoCal) in the ALICE experiment /ALICE Collaboration
We discuss a forward electromagnetic and hadronic calorimeter (FoCal) as a possible upgrade to the ALICE experiment, which could be installed during LS3 for data-taking in 2026–2028 at the LHC. The FoCal is a highly granular Si+W electromagnetic calorimeter combined with a conventional sampling hadronic calorimeter covering pseudorapidities of 3.2 < $\eta$ < 5.8. [...]

Probing small-x gluons with the ALICE Forward Calorimeter upgrade / Novitzky, Norbert (speaker) (University of Tsukuba (JP))
We will present the design and physics performance of a high-granularity Forward Calorimeter (FoCal) upgrade for ALICE. The main goal of the FoCal detector is to measure isolated direct photon production to constrain the low-x gluon density in the proton and nuclei and to look for deviations from linear QCD evolution in the high gluon-density regime. [...]

Design and characterisation of a new FoCal-E prototype for ALICE experiment / Ghimouz, Abderrahmane (Tsukuba U. (main)) /FoCal Collaboration
The FoCal-E detector is a part of the FoCal detector aiming to provide unique capabilities to measure small-x gluon distributions via prompt photon production. It represents an upgrade to the ALICE experiment, and will be installed during LS3 for data taking in 2029–2032 at the LHC. [...]

The CMS Tracker Data Quality Monitoring Expert GUI / Palmonari, Francesco (INFN, Pisa) /CMS Collaboration
The CMS Tracker data quality monitoring (DQM) is a demanding task due the detector's high granularity. It consists of about 15148 strip and 1440 pixel detector modules. [...]

Front-End Control and Monitoring System for the Resistive Plate Chambers at the CMS Experiment / Thyssen, Filip (Gent U.) /CMS Collaboration
The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) uses Resistive Plate Chambers (RPCs) as a trigger-dedicated muon detector. The RPC subdetector presently consists of 912 chambers, providing a $\approx$~3\,ns time resolution for the pseudorapidity region $\lvert\eta\rvert~<~1.6$. [...]

ALICE upgrades for Run 4 and Run 5 / Ferretti, Alessandro (INFN, Turin ; Turin U.) /ALICE Collaboration
In view of Run 4 at the LHC, presently scheduled from 2029 onwards, ALICE is pursuing several upgrades to further extend its physics reach. In order to improve heavy-flavor hadron and dielectron measurements which rely on secondary vertexing, a reduction of the material budget of the innermost layers of the Inner Tracking System is needed. [...]
