Impact of beam asymmetries at the Future Circular Collider <math display="inline"><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>-</mo></msup></math> / Kicsiny, Peter (CERN ; EPFL-ISIC, Lausanne) ; Buffat, Xavier (CERN) ; Nguyen, Khoi Le Nguyen (Cambridge U.) ; Pieloni, Tatiana (EPFL-ISIC, Lausanne) ; Seidel, Mike (EPFL-ISIC, Lausanne ; PSI, Villigen)
In this paper we present detailed simulations with asymmetric initial beam settings in the context of the proposed Future Circular Collider e+e- (FCC-ee) using the Xsuite framework. We compare simulated equilibrium bunch sizes and luminosities against an already existing analytical model, which shows remarkably good agreement for realistic small perturbations. [...]

Multiturn simulation of radiative Bhabha scattering in the equivalent photon approximation / Kicsiny, Peter (CERN ; EPFL-ISIC, Lausanne) ; Buffat, Xavier (CERN) ; Schulte, Daniel (CERN) ; Burkhardt, Helmut (CERN) ; Pieloni, Tatiana (EPFL-ISIC, Lausanne) ; Seidel, Mike (EPFL-ISIC, Lausanne)
In this paper, we present a Monte Carlo event generator for radiative Bhabha scattering, based on the method of equivalent photons, and optimized for multiturn tracking simulations in the xsuite framework. We demonstrate the accuracy of the event generator with successful benchmarks of the luminosity and event cross section against currently existing alternative tools. [...]

Theory of bunched beam transverse Schottky signals with stationary rf system and high-order chromaticity / Lasocha, Kacper (CERN) ; Lannoy, Christophe (CERN ; LPHE, Lausanne) ; Mounet, Nicolas (CERN) ; Alves, Diogo (CERN)
The observation of transverse Schottky spectra provides insight into intrabunch particle dynamics and serves in numerous facilities to derive important beam and machine parameters, such as the betatron tune, first-order chromaticity, and transverse emittance. The original theory confirming the validity of these observations has been, however, developed by taking strong assumptions on the particle motion in both the longitudinal and transverse planes. Spin Polarization Simulations for the Future Circular Collider $e^+e^-$ using BMAD / Wu, Yi (EPFL-ISIC, Lausanne) ; Carlier, Felix (CERN) ; Pieloni, Tatiana (EPFL-ISIC, Lausanne) ; van Riesen-Haupt, Léon (EPFL-ISIC, Lausanne)
Measurements of particle properties with unprecedented accuracy in the Future Circular Collider e⁺e⁻ (FCC-ee) are reliant on the high precision center-of-mass energy calibration, which could be realized via resonant depolarization measurements. The obtainable equilibrium spin polarization levels under the influence of lattice imperfections should be estimated via spin polarization simulations. [...]

Measurement of $CP$ violation observables in $D^+\to K^-K^+\pi^+$ decays / LHCb Collaboration
A search for violation of the charge-parity ($CP$) symmetry in the $D^+\rightarrow K^-K^+\pi^+$ decay is presented, with proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb$^{-1}$, collected at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV with the LHCb detector. A novel model-independent technique is used to compare the $D^+$ and $D^-$ phase-space distributions, with instrumental asymmetries subtracted using the $D^+{s}\rightarrow K^-K^+\pi^+$ decay as a control channel. Towards Beam-Beam Simulations for FCC-ee / Kicsiny, Peter (CERN ; Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Buffat, Xavier (CERN) ; Iadarola, Giovanni (CERN) ; Pieloni, Tatiana (EPFL-ISIC, Lausanne) ; Schulte, Daniel (CERN) ; Seidel, Mike (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne ; PSI, Villigen)
The FCC-ee (Future Circular Collider) lepton collider is currently the most favored next generation research infrastructure project at CERN, aimed at studying properties of standard model particles with the highest precision ever. The chosen parameters of the machine yield unprecedented conditions which give rise to previously unseen dynamical effects during collisions. [...]

Measurement of $\Lambda_b^0$, $\Lambda_c^+$ and $\Lambda$ decay parameters using $\Lambda_b^0 \to \Lambda_c^+h^-$ decays / LHCb Collaboration
A comprehensive study of the angular distributions in the bottom-baryon decays $\it{\Lambda}^\mathrm{0}_b\to\it{\Lambda}_c^+ h^-(h=\pi, K)$, followed by $\it{\Lambda}_c^+\to\it{\Lambda} h^+$ with $\it{\Lambda}\to \it{p} \pi^-$ or $\it{\Lambda}_c^+\to\it{p}\it{K}^0_\mathrm{S}$ decays, is performed using a data sample of proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 $\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ collected by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13 $\mathrm{Te\kern -0.1em V}$. The decay parameters and the associated charge-parity ($CP$) asymmetries are measured, with no significant $CP$ violation observed. [...]

Characterization of bent crystals for beam collimation with 6.8 TeV proton beams at the LHC / D'Andrea, Marco (CERN) ; Aberle, Oliver (CERN) ; Abramov, Andrey (CERN) ; Bandiera, Laura (INFN, Ferrara) ; Bruce, Roderik (CERN) ; Cai, Rongrong (CERN ; EPFL-ISIC, Lausanne) ; Calviani, Marco (CERN) ; Demassieux, Quentin (CERN) ; Dewhurst, Kay Alana (CERN) ; Di Castro, Mario (CERN) et al.
The concept of crystal collimation exploits the peculiar properties of crystalline materials to deflect high-energy beam particles at angles orders of magnitude larger than what can be achieved with scattering by conventional materials used as primary collimators. This innovative technique is planned to be used to improve the collimation efficiency with heavy-ion beams at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and its High-Luminosity upgrade (HL-LHC). [...]
