Two-loop anomalous dimensions for small-$R$ jet versus hadronic fragmentation functions / van Beekveld, Melissa (Nikhef, Amsterdam) ; Dasgupta, Mrinal (Manchester U.) ; El-Menoufi, Basem Kamal (Manchester U. ; Monash U.) ; Helliwell, Jack (Oxford U., Theor. Phys.) ; Karlberg, Alexander (CERN) ; Monni, Pier Francesco (CERN)
We study the collinear fragmentation of highly energetic jets defined with a small jet radius. In particular, we investigate how the corresponding fragmentation functions differ from their hadronic counterpart defined in the common $\overline{\rm MS}$ scheme. [...]

A collinear shower algorithm for NSL non-singlet fragmentation / van Beekveld, Melissa (NIKHEF, Amsterdam) ; Dasgupta, Mrinal (Manchester U.) ; El-Menoufi, Basem Kamal (Monash U.) ; Helliwell, Jack (Oxford U., Theor. Phys.) ; Monni, Pier Francesco (CERN) ; Salam, Gavin P. (Oxford U., Theor. Phys. ; U. Oxford (main))
We formulate a collinear partonic shower algorithm that achieves next-to-single-logarithmic (NSL, $\alpha_s^n L^{n-1}$) accuracy for collinear-sensitive non-singlet fragmentation observables. [...]

Charge radii of exotic potassium isotopes challenge nuclear theory and the magic character of $N = 32$ / Koszorús, Á. (Leuven U.) ; Yang, X.F. (Peking U., SKLNPT) ; Jiang, W.G. (U. Tennessee, Knoxville ; Oak Ridge ; Chalmers U. Tech.) ; Novario, S.J. (U. Tennessee, Knoxville ; Oak Ridge) ; Bai, S.W. (Peking U., SKLNPT) ; Billowes, J. (Manchester U.) ; Binnersley, C.L. Nuclear charge radii are sensitive probes of different aspects of the nucleon-nucleon interaction and the bulk properties of nuclear matter; thus, they provide a stringent test and challenge for nuclear theory. The calcium region has been of particular interest, as experimental evidence has suggested a new magic number at $N = 32$ [1-3], while the unexpectedly large increases in the charge radii [4,5] open new questions about the evolution of nuclear size in neutron-rich systems. The analytic two-loop soft function for leading-jet p$_{T}$ / Abreu, Samuel (CERN ; U. Edinburgh, Higgs Ctr. Theor. Phys.) ; Gaunt, Jonathan R. (Manchester U.) ; Monni, Pier Francesco (CERN) ; Szafron, Robert (Brookhaven Natl. Lab.)
We present the calculation of the two-loop soft function for the transverse momentum distribution of the leading jet produced in association with any colour-singlet system (e.g.~a Higgs or a $Z$ boson). This constitutes a central ingredient for the resummation of the above distribution as well as the jet-vetoed cross section at the next-to-next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic order, both of which play an important role in the precision physics programme at the Large Hadron Collider. Collinear fragmentation at NNLL: generating functionals, groomed correlators and angularities / van Beekveld, Melissa (Oxford U., Theor. Phys.) ; Dasgupta, Mrinal (Manchester U. ; CERN) ; El-Menoufi, Basem Kamal (Manchester U.) ; Helliwell, Jack (Oxford U., Theor. Phys.) ; Monni, Pier Francesco (CERN)
Jet calculus offers a unique mathematical technique to bridge the area of QCD resummation with Monte Carlo parton showers. With the ultimate goal of constructing next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic (NNLL) parton showers we study, using the language of generating functionals, the collinear fragmentation of final-state partons. Measurement and microscopic description of odd-even staggering of charge radii of exotic copper isotopes / de Groote, R.P. (Leuven U. ; Jyvaskyla U.) ; Billowes, J. (Manchester U.) ; Binnersley, C.L. (Manchester U.) ; Franchoo, S. (Orsay, IPN) et al.
The mesoscopic nature of the atomic nucleus gives rise to a wide array of macroscopic and microscopic phenomena. The size of the nucleus is a window into this duality: while the charge radii globally scale as $A^{1/3}$, their evolution across isotopic chains reveals unanticipated structural phenomena [1-3]. On factorisation schemes for the electron parton distribution functions in QED / Frixione, Stefano (INFN, Genoa ; CERN)
The electron, positron, and photon Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs) of the unpolarised electron have recently been computed at the next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy in QED, by adopting the $\overline{\rm MS}$ factorisation scheme. We present here analogous results, obtained by working in a different framework that is inspired by the so-called DIS scheme. [...]

QCD resummation for groomed jet observables at NNLL+NLO / Dasgupta, Mrinal (Manchester U. ; CERN) ; El-Menoufi, Basem Kamal (Manchester U.) ; Helliwell, Jack (Oxford U., Theor. Phys.)
We use a direct QCD approach to carry out the next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic (NNLL) resummation for observables groomed with the modified mass-drop tagger (Soft Drop $\beta=0$). We focus on observables which are additive given an arbitrary number of soft-collinear emissions. [...]

Separation of track- and shower-like energy deposits in ProtoDUNE-SP using a convolutional neural network / DUNE Collaboration
Liquid argon time projection chamber detector technology provides high spatial and calorimetric resolutions on the charged particles traversing liquid argon. As a result, the technology has been used in a number of recent neutrino experiments, and is the technology of choice for the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE). [...]
