Interpreting LHCb's $\Lambda_b\to \Lambda_c\tau\bar\nu$ measurement and puzzles in semileptonic $\Lambda_b$ decays
/ Bernlochner, Florian U. (Bonn U.) ; Ligeti, Zoltan (LBL, Berkeley ; UC, Berkeley) ; Papucci, Michele (Caltech) ; Robinson, Dean J. (LBL, Berkeley ; UC, Berkeley)
Normalizing the recent LHCb measurement of $\Lambda_b \to \Lambda_c \tau \bar\nu$ to the standard model (SM) prediction for the $\Lambda_b \to \Lambda_c \mu \bar\nu$ rate, instead of a LEP measurement, provides a more consistent comparison with the SM prediction for the lepton flavor universality ratio $R(\Lambda_c)$. This modestly increases $R(\Lambda_c)$ compared to the quoted LHCb result, such that it no longer hints at a suppression compared to the SM, which would be hard to accommodate in new physics scenarios that enhance $R(D^{(*)})$. Expression of Interest for the CODEX-b Detector
/ Aielli, Giulio (INFN, Rome2 ; Rome U., Tor Vergata) ; Ben-Haim, Eli (Paris U., VI-VII) ; Cardarelli, Roberto (INFN, Rome2) ; Charles, Matthew John (Paris U., VI-VII) ; Cid Vidal, Xabier (Santiago de Compostela U., IGFAE) ; Coco, Victor (CERN) ; Dey, Biplab (CCNU, Wuhan, Inst. Part. Phys.) ; Dumps, Raphael (CERN) ; Evans, Jared A. (Cincinnati U.) ; Gibbons, George (Birmingham U.) et al.
This document presents the physics case and ancillary studies for the proposed CODEX-b long-lived particle (LLP) detector, as well as for a smaller proof-of-concept demonstrator detector, CODEX-$\beta$, to be operated during Run 3 of the LHC. Our development of the CODEX-b physics case synthesizes `top-down' and `bottom-up' theoretical approaches, providing a detailed survey of both minimal and complete models featuring LLPs. [...]

The Physics Beyond Colliders initiative is an exploratory study aimed at exploiting the full scientific potential of the CERN’s accelerator complex and scientific infrastructures through projects complementary to the LHC and other possible future colliders. These projects will target fundamental physics questions in modern particle physics. [...]

Leveraging the ALICE/L3 cavern for long-lived exotics
/ Gligorov, Vladimir V. (Paris U., VI-VII) ; Knapen, Simon (LBL, Berkeley ; UC, Berkeley ; Princeton, Inst. Advanced Study) ; Nachman, Benjamin (LBL, Berkeley) ; Papucci, Michele (LBL, Berkeley ; UC, Berkeley ; CERN) ; Robinson, Dean J. (LBL, Berkeley ; UC, Santa Cruz)
Run 5 of the HL-LHC era (and beyond) may provide new opportunities to search for physics beyond the standard model (BSM) at interaction point 2 (IP2). In particular, taking advantage of the existing ALICE detector and infrastructure provides an opportunity to search for displaced decays of beyond standard model long-lived particles (LLPs). [...]

Searching for Long-lived Particles: A Compact Detector for Exotics at LHCb
/ Gligorov, Vladimir V. (Paris U., VI-VII) ; Knapen, Simon (LBNL, Berkeley ; UC, Berkeley) ; Papucci, Michele (LBNL, Berkeley ; UC, Berkeley) ; Robinson, Dean J. (Cincinnati U.)
We advocate for the construction of a new detector element at the LHCb experiment, designed to search for displaced decays of beyond standard model long-lived particles, taking advantage of a large shielded space in the LHCb cavern that is expected to soon become available. We discuss the general features and putative capabilities of such an experiment, as well as its various advantages and complementarities with respect to the existing LHC experiments and proposals such as SHiP and MATHUSLA. HAMMER: Reweighting tool for simulated data samples
/ Duell, Stephan (Bonn U.) ; Bernlochner, Florian (Bonn U.) ; Ligeti, Zoltan (LBL, Berkeley) ; Papucci, Michele (CERN ; LBL, Berkeley) ; Robinson, Dean (UC, Berkeley)
Modern flavour physics experiments, such as Belle II or LHCb, require large samples of generated Monte Carlo events. Monte Carlo events often are processed in a sophisticated chain that includes a simulation of the detector response. [...]

Dark Matter Benchmark Models for Early LHC Run-2 Searches: Report of the ATLAS/CMS Dark Matter Forum
/ Abercrombie, Daniel (MIT) ; Akchurin, Nural (Texas Tech.) ; Akilli, Ece (Geneva U.) ; Alcaraz Maestre, Juan (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Allen, Brandon (MIT) ; Alvarez Gonzalez, Barbara (CERN) ; Andrea, Jeremy (Strasbourg, IPHC) ; Arbey, Alexandre (CERN ; Lyon Observ.) ; Azuelos, Georges (TRIUMF) ; Azzi, Patrizia (INFN, Padua) et al.
This document is the final report of the ATLAS-CMS Dark Matter Forum, a forum organized by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations with the participation of experts on theories of Dark Matter, to select a minimal basis set of dark matter simplified models that should support the design of the early LHC Run-2 searches. A prioritized, compact set of benchmark models is proposed, accompanied by studies of the parameter space of these models and a repository of generator implementations. [...]
