Nucor Buildings Group planned to close its service center in Eufaula, Alabama, by late April, resulting in 79 layoffs.

The company is redirecting production to its Texas facility as part of a strategic business decision to align its workforce with current market demands. Spokeswoman for Nucor Katherine Miller confirmed that the facility’s operations will permanently end and said that affected employees are being offered assistance in finding opportunities at other Nucor divisions within Alabama.

This closure adds to the nearly 1,500 job losses already scheduled in the state for 2025.
