Adobe recently introduced a new extension that allows Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge users to edit PDFs directly in their respective browsers.
That means there is no need to download and install any additional software to make simple edits or sign documents online.
Instead, you can download this Adobe extension via the Chrome Web Store. Microsoft Edge users that want to use it can also fetch the extension from the Chrome Web Store.
Apart from viewing and editing PDFs, the extension can help perform a set of additional tasks such as:
- Convert PDF to Word, JPG, Excel, and PPT
- Fill and sign PDFs
- Request signatures
- Delete, reorder, or rotate pages within the PDF file.
- Comment, make markups, make drawings, and highlight parts within the PDF file.
- Download PDFs
How to make edits directly from Chrome and Edge
Here’s how to install and use the updated extension from Adobe:
- First, you need to find the extension in the Chrome web store and press Add to Chrome
- The red Adobe logo will appear in the upper-right corner – now, the extension is active
- If the Adobe logo doesn’t appear, press the extensions button (it looks like a puzzle piece on Chrome)
- Go to Manage Extensions and enable the extension by clicking on the toggle button
Once you start the extension, a toolbar will appear just below the browser’s search bar. From there, you can choose what you want to do with the PDF file in your browser.
There you have it, the easiest way to edit PDFs directly from Chrome and Edge through the updated Adobe extension.
