The creator of Rapportive has announced a new tool for Apple Mail called LinkedIn Intro for iPhone, which is going to make LinkedIn even more valuable, and make Apple Mail seriously rock.
Rapportive is an excellent app to have installed inside your Gmail account. Rapportive excels as a source of information about the person emailing you. Sometimes with all the email coming in, it is difficult to tell if you have talked to the person emailing you before, and if the person is who they say they are. Rapportive immediately provides users with their tweets, Facebook links, and photo - all for free.
Obviously in the world of the Internet, such a valuable tool was not going to stay unsold for long, and indeed the business networking site LinkedIn finally bought them. Now, with this announcement, they may also lure people from the standard Gmail app to Apple Mail.
