Describe

ASCII function in SQL Server is used to convert character expressions into ASCII code values ​​of the leftmost character of the expression.

Syntax

To run ASCII function in SQL Server, we use the following syntax:

 ASCII(bieu thuc ky tu) 

Parameters :

  1. description: the expression returns ASCII code. If you enter more than one character , the ASCII function will return the value of the first character and ignore all the characters behind it .
  2. ASCII function inverses CHAR function.

ASCII function can only be used in later versions of SQL Server: SQL Server 2017, SQL Server 2016, SQL Server 2014, SQL Server 2012, SQL Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2008, and SQL Server 2005.
