Fix: Wifi Won’t Connect After Creators Update

Some users who just upgraded to Windows 10 Creators Update have reported the WiFi stopped connecting soon after the update. Though the main cause of the issue is unclear, it’s most likely due to a failed WiFi service or missing drivers.

To fix this issue, we’ll check the Wireless LAN Autoconfig service to make sure both the service and its dependencies are running correctly. We will also try installing the OEM drivers in place of Windows generic drivers.

Method 1: Checking the Wireless LAN Service

  1. Press the Windows Key + R to open the run prompt, type services.msc and click OK. You can also click on Start, type services and press Enter.

  5. Restart your PC and verify if the issue has been solved.

Method 2: Installing Drivers

Sometimes, Windows Updates don’t install the right drivers for your hardware or may have some issues. You can easily fix this issue by installing the specific drivers for your device from the OEM or update from the Windows Device Manager.

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager. You can alternatively, press CTRL + R to open the command prompt, type devmgmt.msc and click OK.

Visit the website and then download the drivers from here. Alternatively, you can visit your laptop vendor’s support website and search for the specific wireless driver from there.
  4. Install the wireless driver on your PC and then make a reboot and verify if the issue has been solved.
