Hi there! I would like to present Sjoerddebruin as a candidate for oversightership on Wikidata today. Some of you may wonder why do we need a third oversighter here. Recently, Rschen7754 has resigned his oversighter status and we need someone to fill in this gap. I believe that adding a third oversighter will add additional coverage, in terms of differing timezones and number of helping hands.

Sjoerddebruin has been an administrator on Wikidata since February 2014, and has done a good job with his admin tools. He understands Wikidata and Wikimedia policies very well in general, as well as the privacy and oversight policy. He is available via email and IRC, which means he is able to handle oversight requests immediately. He is a native speaker of Dutch, has advanced knowledge of English and basic knowledge of German, French and West Frisian. He is also an administrator on Dutch Wikipedia and is able to provide additional coverage for the European timezones. In addition, he is a compliant and dedicated user who will try his best to help as much as possible. Therefore, I think Sjoerddebruin would be a good addition to the oversighter team. Since this permission request is about access to extended private information and the last major incident in supposed breach of privacy based on such information involved two users you were working rather closely together, I'd now like to hear from you, after some time passed since, how you value the incident. Do you consider it to be a violation of privacy? Has the WMF/community reaction to this incident been exaggerated?     Hi Vogone,
    Well, it's a long time ago and I don't really like talking about it. It really changed the atmosphere on the Dutch Wikipedia and so my personal life, because I attended various activities with both users. Yes, they made a huge mistake, but I just want to move on. Some users overreacted a bit to be honest, but that is human and part of the roots of the Dutch Wikipedia. I respect their views and I need to live with that. Your last question is a little bit confusing to me. If I have a background to you or some kind of thing, I really can tell you: I wasn't so close with them as they were with each other. It was just at that time that every choice had a bad outcome (in my view). I didn't want to lose users who helped me to take big steps in my life. But life changes and I need to accept that. Wikidata is one of the things I love to work at, I don't want to ruin that with a similar case. If some things are confusing to you, please ask for clarification. I'm doing the best I can.

    After some sleep, I think it is the best to give some short answers just to be clear. Yes, it was privacy violation.
