I'm busy creating an schema for virtual tour. This schema is meant to use for property proposal audio tour, augmented realty tour and virtual realty tour.
The reason for the creation off an schema is because, an virtual tour or audio tour can be an podcast, youtube video, App (Google play, App store, F droid) or google art and culture see Wikidata:Schema proposals/virtual tour
Is it possible to have a look and give some advice (did I forgot something, ...)

- You need to make clear what you mean by a virtual tour. Is it the audioguide you might get at a tourist attraction, some armchair exploration on a website with linked content in a 3D world or map, or an app to use when walking a city. Extending to podcasts and videos is perhaps straying too far from the tour idea. There is merit in recording the visitor experience for a tourist attraction, is it self-guided with audio/video guide, or led by a person, and in what languages, but that might be better handled with a "visitor experience" property than a "virtual tour" one. We don't have a "guide" property yet, to link printed guidebooks to sites. They generally use main_subject on the book, but I'd not want to see see lots of "audio guide to the Louvre" items being created in the same way. Vicarage (talk) 16:11, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for your response. The initial reason was to propose a property for audio tour, virtual reality tour and augmented reality tour. As only a URL linked does not cover the entire scope of the property. I started looking for which data type would be suitable. After searching, I arrived at Data type EntitySchema, then searched whether a suitable EntitySchema exists, but unfortunately did not find one.
- Hence, I am preparing a schema to use with all 3 of the above propertys, in addition I would also like to use this schema for ground level 360 degree view URLProperty:P5282
- An audio tour can be a podcast found on a website. In addition, you have ones that you can only listen to on site in, say, a museum. Finally, there are also Apps to listen to an audio tour.
- A virtual and augmented realtiy tour, ground level 360 degree view URL, can be seen on a website, Youtube, Google art and culture or via an App.
- So my intention is to create an EntitySchema that can be linked to the 4 properties above. Hopefully this gives you more of a view of what I want to achieve with the schema virtual tour. Brechtd (talk) 17:35, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
- I realise I know nothing about WD schemas, so can't advise whether you are talking the right approach. Vicarage (talk) 17:44, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
- Why create an RFC when the proposal process is also a community consensus process? Let's keep the discussion in one place. Ainali (talk) 07:29, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- Because in the proposal process instruction it says : Try and involve as many people as possible in the discussion, especially those with specific knowledge about the subject area. A good place to start is posting messages to relevant Wiki Projects on Wikidata and Wikipedia with a request for feedback (make sure you include a link to this page). You can also post messages on Wikidata:Project chat for general feedback and help finding other editors with relevant subject knowledge. Brechtd (talk) 06:46, 10 December 2024 (UTC)

I really like this idea as wikidata/wikipedia already has enough content to build tours from, for example walking tour around the public artworks of the major cities, it would also feedback into the original content as you can imagine someone building a tour would want to make sure all the items they add to a tour are consistent in their to quality. Not sure how to do it though, perhaps like a TV series where there is an organisational entry and then sub-entries in this case the sub-entries being all the stops on the tour are part of and each of those has link to what it follows and which entrie is next .
