Motivation

[edit]

A comprehensive website by an official German archeological conservation office about ancient theatres in Europe and around the Mediterranean Sea. Its main advantage over sites that only feature descriptions of buildings is that it also assembles inscriptions and lots and lots of mentions in Ancient literature for each theatre (plus a modern bibliography, and often pictures). The IDs in the URLs are somewhat hetereogenous (mostly simply a number, but in rare cases also a name in letters, see example 3 above), but they have remained permanent since the launch of the site 7 years ago, so I think it's preferable to have an ID property instead of using described at URL (P973) for so many items. --AndreasPraefcke (talk) 11:09, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
