I see the problem here. Honoris causa is in fact not an item but property: it is not a separate award or degree but a sort of some awards/degrees. A person might hold the degree of Q752297, Q2248352, Q837343, Q17379493 and so on assigned to them honoris causa, i.e. without providing required thesis etc. So I would argue that this is in fact an item of class Q189533, and the proper use of it for the persons must be as a qualifier for any of aforementioned (and some other) degrees within the property academic degree (P512){{{2}}}{{{3}}}. Missing inter-language link to Dutch article
[edit]ILL to https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eredoctoraat is missing from the list. Since page is semi-protected, I cannot edit it (I have no edits on wikidata; but sufficient on wikipedia itself). Also note that the description should probably read "eredoctoraat". Can anyone with more rights add this ILL? Thnx. Kees3125 (talk) 18:09, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Kees3125: Are you sure it belongs here? I don’t speak Dutch well, but based on what I understand from the article, it fits more in honorary doctorate (Q11415564). —Tacsipacsi (talk) 07:16, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Tacsipacsi You're right: and it is already present in that list in Q11415564. In the Netherlands, as far as I know 'doctorate' is the only honorary degree awarded (EN page mentions honorary master is also possible); that confused me. Kees3125 (talk) 12:55, 9 June 2024 (UTC)
