Gaza Under Siege: Global Silence and the Struggle for Survival
As Israel’s war on Gaza intensifies, the world watches in silence while a humanitarian catastrophe unfolds and Palestinian resilience endures.

Watan-In a scene that reflects unprecedented international complicity, the Israeli war machine continues to crush the Gaza Strip amidst deafening global silence and appalling Arab inaction. As the occupation persists in its intensive bombardment, more than 168,000 people are left dead or wounded, with no protection or genuine international intervention — in one of the worst contemporary humanitarian disasters.
International reports show that over 7% of Gaza’s population has become victims of the war. But what if this percentage were applied to other countries? It would mean 600,000 people in Israel and more than 24 million in the United States! These figures reflect the magnitude of the tragedy and raise a painful question: Are Palestinian lives still counted as part of humanity?
The massacres are not limited to killing; they also include a comprehensive siege that blocks food, medicine, and fuel, threatening every aspect of life. Hospitals are without electricity, humanitarian aid is being blocked, and the health and education systems are collapsing catastrophically — all of which confirms that the occupation is pursuing a strategy of slow extermination, with open support from major powers and the silence of international organizations.
Gaza’s Defiance Amid Occupation and Betrayal
The occupation has not hidden its intentions. Israel is openly seeking to occupy and annex Gaza as part of a plan aimed at depopulating the Strip. This plan aligns with previous statements by occupation leaders and is being implemented gradually on the ground, with a complete absence of any Arab deterrent or international pressure.
Normalization and complicity have reached their peak, with total disregard from Western administrations that blame the resistance for the war and defend “Israel’s right to defend itself,” while an entire people are left to face death, siege, and destruction.
Yet, despite all this injustice, Gaza remains steadfast. Gaza — betrayed by all — still fights alone, confronting tyranny with the bodies of its children, the determination of its men, and the resilience of its women. It is redefining courage in a world that forgets its values when it comes to Palestine.
