Crimson Peak
Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak is not a straight up horror despite its original marketing. Though with some time away from its release date, it’s grown quite a following. It’s a gothic romance as an American woman Edith (Mia Wasikowska) is swept up in a new romance with an enticing English man Sir Thomas Sharpe (Tom Hiddleston). But as she moves in with Sharpe and his sister (Jessica Chastain) in his unsettling mansion, Edith starts to see ghosts and visions of something darker happening beneath the surface. (Streaming September 1.)
