Verlag Marie Leidorf, founded in 1983, has only recently become one of the larger German-language publishers for archaeological literature. Our ca. 600 titles not only cover prehistoric, classical, Roman provincial, Near Eastern and medieval archaeology, but also the related fields of history, ethnography, anthropology and sciences.

Our entire stock (including titles already out of print) can now be found on over 10,000 internet pages. With the aid of a new kind of search engine, which we specially developed between 2004 and 2007, it is now for the first time possible to run a targeted search for the contents of each specialist archaeological publication (both monographs and contributions to edited volumes), collected in a relational database. This service is free of charge, and should definitely be used as a research aid.

To our authors, we offer the best possible communication on the basis of knowledge transfer with the specialist audience, as well as printing their work (PhD, Habilitation and MA theses) in outstanding quality. In addition to professional marketing, all relevant information is clearly presented on our website in the form of detailed annotated tables of contents. This guarantees that the value of your publication is instantly visible on-screen to each user. In addition, since 1995 we are represented with a large book stall at all important conferences not only in Germany, but also in neighbouring countries.
