The Witcher 3: The Family Blade walkthrough

Track down a stolen sword for a very grateful warrior before his boss catches on.

The Family Blade quest is another secondary fetch quest for Geralt to undertake in The Witcher 3. This time around, a sword - the Kuliu - has been stolen from the an Craite's armory and it has been publically requested that someone track it down.

Of course, the person to find it is going to be Geralt. If you need some help finding the Kuliu, here's our guide on how to complete The Family Blade quest in The Witcher 3.

The Witcher 3: The Family Blade walkthrough

The Family Blade quest in The Witcher 3 is available from the notice board in Kaer Trolde Harbour.

Your waypoint shows you where to start the quest; the closest signpost is the Miner's Camp. Approach the camp and kill off the four bandits. Loot them and you'll find a note; read it, and you'll find out where the sword has gone.

Travel to Fyresdale and make your way to the next search zone, where - amazing - more bandits await you. Kill, loot, and then read the journal you will find.

The next and thankfully last stop is the Whale Cemetery. Travel to Gedyneith for the shortest overland trek to this site. When you get there you'll find a party laid out in your honour and several winsome young ladies wi- wait, no, sorry; that's Valhalla. This place just has more bandits.

Stomp on their faces and loot their bodies to find the stolen sword and yet another journal, which you can completely ignore if you like.

With the sword in Geralt's possession, head back to Kaer Trolde; quest giver Olaf is quite near the Bridge signpost. He's deeply grateful to you for having returned the Kuliu, and you'll earn 75 XP and 20 Crowns as the quest concludes.
