Recent amendments to the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018 (Cth) (the SOCI Act) expand the definitions of critical infrastructure to encompass a wide range of industry sectors.
The amendments also create a national register of assets, outline new federal powers and introduces new ‘positive security’ obligations.
