In 1989, some visionary leaders of Hong Kong recognized the need to establish a new research-focused university to support the city's aspirations for growth and innovation. In response to this vision, The Hong Kong University of Science of Technology (HKUST) was founded in 1991. Since then, HKUST has served as a catalyst for over 100,000 pioneering students, empowering them to become leaders in their fields and contributing significantly to the global knowledge economy.
