When in 1991 for the second time in the 20th century the Ukraine became independent, it seemed to possess all the requirements for being a successful, happy and prosperous nation. Of the fifteen sovereign states that emerged from the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Ukraine was seemingly the most privileged. Its vast stretches of highly fertile farmland, the so-called Black Earth, produced great quantities of wheat, corn and potatoes. At the same time, the Ukraine was an industrial powerhouse, with manufacturing concentrated in cities like Donetsk and Kharkov (home of the famous Antonov aircraft plant). In 1975, Ukrainian steel output equaled that of West Germany, Europe’s industrial powerhouse. In 1988, when it was still a Soviet republic, Ukrainian GDP would make it the word’s eleventh-biggest economy.
Today, it ranks forty-fifth. On account of its per capita GDP (PPP), the Ukraine is one of the poorest European nations. It has lost more than half of the 52 million inhabitants it boasted at independence, since there are at most only an estimated 25 million left in the area controlled by the Kiev regime. Quite an impressive achievement in a mere thirty-five years of independence.
Yet independence seemed to hold so much promise! The US government and many Americans with Ukrainian antecedents and roots immediately took a lively interest in the new sovereign nation. These included descendants of Slavic immigrants from the Ukraine, or Little Russia, as it was still called a little over a century ago, but mostly descendants of Jews who left that part of Russia for a better life in the New World.
The Americans arrived with their full arsenal, including the usual panoply of NGOs and above all “international” financial entities such as the World Bank and the IMF. These instruments had proven extremely effective in subjecting and keeping US control over Latin American nations.
The US thus began the dismantling of the Ukrainian economy, taking away what appeared most valuable and disposing of the rest, chaining the country to the US and US-dominated international organizations while taking control over its finances. In the process, Ukrainian manufacturing industry, employing millions, was gutted and eventually taken apart. Ukrainian politicians were only too eager to play along and not to miss the golden opportunity to stuff their pockets. According to the Corruption Perception Index (CPI), the Ukraine is one of Europe’s most corrupt countries, among notorious places like Moldova. In other words, one might say the Ukraine was being made a European clone of a classical Latin American banana republic such as Nicaragua or Honduras.
In 1994, the Ukraine became completely subjected to the banksters of Wall Street, the IMF and the World Bank, when Victor Yuschenko was appointed head of the nation’s central bank. As American looters and advisers, followed by eager profiteers from Europe, swarmed over the country, another great robbery began.
Ten years later, in 2004, through its NGOs and other instruments such as the National Endowment for Democracy, the US organized a local Color Revolution, the “Orange Revolution,” which led to the election of Yuschenko as president. By that time, the Ukraine had already given proof (in 2003) of its loyalty to the US by sending 1,600 troops for the occupation of Iraq after the US had conquered it.
One could say the Ukraine was being transformed into the European equivalent of Cuba in the 1960s: a superpower’s stronghold on another superpower’s very doorstep, such as Cuba had been for the Soviet Union on America’s doorstep. The difference was just that the Ukraine was ruled precisely the same way as Cuba from 1902 to 1959: as a mere US protectorate, with the local US ambassador as a proconsul.
Another decade later, in 2014, after President Victor Yanukovitch, yielding to common sense and Russian pressure, reneged on signing a free trade and association agreement with the European Union (the political arm of NATO), the US engineered the “Revolution of Dignity,” also known as Euromaidan. The intervention was successful, leading to the election of a new president: chocolate czar Petro Poroshenko. Proceeding to enact a series of anti-Russian decrees, the new regime provoked a rebellion in the regions (oblasts) of Donetsk and Lugansk, each with a majority of Russian speakers. The two regions went on to declare autonomy, whereupon the Kiev regime unleashed a wave of retributive violence against the local civilian population, resulting until 2022 in the deaths of more than 14,000 residents.
The Americans, now firmly in control of the Ukraine, had set their eyes on taking over the naval base in Sebastopol on the Crimean Peninsula. This region was also overwhelmingly inhabited by Russian speakers. A US takeover of the base would have deprived the Russian navy of its strategic southern base, which was absolutely essential. Within days of the end of the “Revolution of Dignity,” Russian army units were sent to the Crimea so as to secure it for Russia and prevent the US from seizing the Sebastopol base. On 11 March, the Crimean regional assembly and the Sebastopol City Council proclaimed the region’s independence, which was approved by a referendum a few days later. A month later the Crimea joined the Russian Federation.
The Americans were boiling with impotent rage when their plan to take over Sebastopol fell through. They assuaged it somewhat by having their “international community” refuse to recognize the legality of the Crimea joining the Russian Federation. But what next? The Obama regime, in which the neocons of the PNAC played a key role, opted for a false flag incident to bring about an armed confrontation with Russia, which they were fully confident the US and NATO would win hands down. On July 17, 2014, the Americans, with the connivance if not the assistance of the Dutch Rutte government, organized the shooting down, by Ukrainian air force fighters, of a Malaysian jetliner carrying two hundred Dutch citizens. The MH-17 was shot down and crashed in the breakaway region of Donetsk. Immediately, the Russians, accused of covertly aiding the rebels in Donetsk, were blamed for downing the jetliner. Needless to say, there is no evidence whatsoever to support that claim. Incidentally, one may presume that Rutte’s appointment as NATO Gensec is the reward for his loyal cooperation in the MH-17 scam.
Although the “Russo-Ukrainian War” started in 2014, it was being fought in a very low-key fashion, especially on the Russian side. The Ukrainians, on the other hand, aided and abetted, often led even, by the Americans and their NATO vassals (especially the English), embarked on a vast armament program in preparation of a major confrontation with Russia.
In late 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in an effort to end the bloodshed in Donetsk and Lugansk and to settle the issue in a permanent manner, sent repeated proposals to the US Biden regime and to NATO. However, since no one cared to answer, in February 2022 Russia launched the Special Military Operation (SMO).
Once again, the US and its European vassals shrieked with rage at another violation of their “rules-based” order. As a matter of fact, under these rules only the US and Israel are permitted to do the thing Russia had then just done. However, it created exactly the situation the US and NATO had been preparing for all along. Thus the NATO proxy war against Russia began, which was supposed to result in the collapse and partition of the Russian Federation.
In their decades-long conceitedness and hubris, Western ruling elites and their media outlets and assorted “experts” were convinced their superior Western arms would easily prevail. To their utter shock, however, those Western weapons proved inferior to the Russian ones. Moreover, the Ukrainian armed forces had been trained according to NATO standards, which in themselves are inferior to those of the Russian armed forces. Although individual Ukrainian soldiers certainly did not lack courage and commitment, they turned out to be cannon fodder for the Russian army and its superior weaponry.
At the moment, three years after the SMO began, the defeat of the Ukrainian military can no longer be hidden from the public by means of fake news and daily doses of disinformation. More than one million Ukrainian soldiers have died on the battlefield, which means that at least two million others have been wounded, many of whom will remain crippled for life.
Although thanks to Russian tactics, civilian losses are very low, it is no exaggeration to say that the war has aggravated the Ukraine’s demographic collapse. Millions of Ukrainians, including numerous men of military age, have fled to other European countries. More than two million have found refuge in Poland, where Ukrainian doctors and nurses have taken over wide swaths of the medical system. Over one million are now in Germany, almost a million in the Czech Republic. Big colonies of Ukrainians are to be found (in descending order) in Italy, Romania, Slovakia and the Netherlands. Before the war started, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians had already left their beloved homeland to find better lives in the Americas, but also in Russia, where there is a high demand for all imaginable kinds of work. So much for the patriotism of Ukrainians!
With the eventual defeat of the Ukrainian armed forces and their NATO and US sponsors in sight, it is understandable that movements are being made in both camps to reach a formal understanding. The newly elected US President Donald Trump is presently acting like a catalyst in this delicate process.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, the not untalented comedian who was carefully selected and prepared for the office, remains faithful to his role of steadfast war leader against overwhelming odds and puts up a show of resilience and determination. Yet it looks increasingly like he is the leader of a mere empty shell. The Ukrainian economy has suffered tremendously from the war. The electrical grid needs to be completely rebuilt and other elements of the infrastructure also require enormous investments and effort to be brought back up to standard.
Zelensky’s recent performance in the White House in the row with Trump and Vice President Vance should not distract attention from what has likely already been decided by Trump and Putin. Both want an end to the military operation in the Ukraine, but it is Russia that dictates the terms. Zelensky and Trump want to save face and Putin will surely allow Trump to do that.
The Ukraine will emerge amputated and scarred, mourning its dead and resenting the millions of Ukrainians who have left and are likely to return. It will be sort of a miracle if a rump Ukraine around Kiev, securely tied to Russia, will survive.
History has few examples in which a nation possessing all sorts of advantages was destroyed within a mere four decades. The Ukraine constitutes a unique case from this point of view.
It is extremely sad that the Ukraine was not destroyed by the common Ukrainian people. All they want is what most people in the world truly want: to lead healthy, happy lives with their family and friends, to be safe and to eat decent food. The country has been destroyed by the US and its NATO vassals and a clique of banksters, aided by a small clique of ruthless Ukrainian politicians.
Actually, the Ukraine is just another failed state, propped up with tremendous amounts of money that chiefly finds its way to the pockets of legions of corrupt politicians and businessmen in the US, Europe, Israel and the Ukraine.
An account of the ruination of Ukraine without any mention of the heavy Zionist Jewish involvement thereof – from Zelensky, Nudelwoman and Kholomoisky downwards. Fortunately, this has been chronicled in UR by Dr Andrew Joyce and others. IF you want to find out the truth, read articles like this.

Vogel is at best controlled opposition on these and other matters. He misdirects shamelessly.
“History has few examples in which a nation possessing all sorts of advantages was destroyed within a mere four decades.”
You mean the US?
Yeah, but look how much LGBTQ rights have advanced there!
It is too early to see what Team Trump actually expects to get out of the West’s Ukraine travesty.
A very interesting post. Agreed such a shame, Ukraine should have been a rich and prosperous nation and it’s been looted and used as a battering ram and ruined.
But one quibble: “In their decades-long conceitedness and hubris, Western ruling elites and their media outlets and assorted “experts” were convinced their superior Western arms would easily prevail. To their utter shock, however, those Western weapons proved inferior to the Russian ones.” One notes that it’s been three years, and Ukraine is still fighting. For a stupid and lost cause, indeed, but I would not say that NATO tactics and weapons are all that bad. But – while of course I can’t read minds – I don’t think the western elites really expected the Ukrainians to fight as well as they did. I think the real plan was just to use Ukraine to bleed Russia – in a guerrilla war if needed – and sanctions would be the main weapon. Not a fundamentally bad or stupid (although yes evil) plan, really, it just didn’t work.
After the Jews at Blackrock loot the place, there might not be anything left.
Helmer’s answer to your question is lithium for Musk’s EV’s and titanium for his rare metals atmospheric distribution project, based in Texas.
https://www.unz.com/article/the-rem-war-the-russian-state-versus-trump-and-musk
The war in Ukraine explained in 20 seconds.
Make Khazaria Great Again.
They are demonic.
Helmer’s notion doesn’t sound right to me. I didn’t know Tesla was using titanium battery shields, but the total amount required even for millions of cars is small. Lithium is not one of the rare earth elements. Rare earths include samarium and neodymium which are used in magnets for the motors in EVs.
As far as I recall, Soviet Ukraine had substantial production of coal, iron, titanium and aluminum. Not enough to be interesting to contemporary Russia but enticing for other vultures. As the West tried to justify the Ukrainian takeover, there was talk of natural gas and then oil. This was followed by lithium and then rare earths. Who knows, maybe next they will “find” gold and diamonds?
It may be telling to see how Russia deals with the BlackRock takings in Ukraine. There are (((oligarchs))) on all sides.
Remember that Ukraine is totally owned and controlled by the small minority of Jews. that is what Jews do to country’s they control. Soviet Union was one, 80 percent of the leaders of the communist party were Jews now 80 percent of Russia oligarchs are Jews they stole the country as they were the party leaders. And that’s exactly what is happening in this country God help us we are so blind
Ukraine is controlled by zionists and it is ruined that is what is happening in the whole western world especially USA
Trump is either stupid (likely) or is using the mineral thing to put Ukraine on its back foot (softening it up). The truth is that Ukraine doesn’t actually have much in the way of “rare Earth’s) but don’t tell Trump this. It may be why Zelensky is happy to sign any agreement Trump wants for those minerals because there won’t be much to give him. Besides which, once Trump is gone, a Dem administration and /or Congress will summarily cancel any agreement made by Trump, releasing Ukraine.
Soviet geologists were the world’s best. If they didn’t discover any vast, unexploited Ukrainian resources they simply will not be discovered by anyone else period.
It’s not like the Soviets did not know how to find lithium, rare earths, natural gas etc.. Their mineral surveys spanned an uninterrupted seventy years and covered every square kilometer of the old Soviet Union. They even utilized parachuting, ski-equipped geologists to literally cover every inch of ground! The somewhat complicating factor in this was a 20th century lack of technology in mining and accessing some of the said resources-after all the Soviets were thirty-five years in the past but in 2025 Russian mining technology has vastly improved opening more mineral resources for exploitation.
Another complicating factor is the Russian Artic Sea basin-incredibly, incredibly shallow and huge in extent (unlike the Artic Sea basin available to the West) but full of icebergs in the summer and frozen over in the winter thus the one place which Soviet geologist didn’t fully survey! As technology improves we actually might see two or even up to three more Siberias opened up for mineral exploitation! Potentially, economically dwarfing future near-term asteroid exploitation!
Thus the Soviet’s had an unrivalled overview of the non-oceanic resources of every province of their empire but 20th century technology somewhat limited exploitation. BUT the Soviets certainly knew how to mine and process lithium and titanium- and their utilization of both dwarfed the West’s. The Soviets built titanium submarines which simply the West was incapable of building and lithium was used not in batteries (basically 21st century tech) but in aluminum-lithium compounds in order to built lighter airframes (again a technology the West was far behind in and largely unaware of-that’s why people regard lithium as a totally new resource not realizing it was searched for and utilized in quite large quantities in the old Soviet Union even before batteries became a thing). Thus any talk of virgin titanium, lithium, rare earth deposits in the Ukraine is simply bullsh…
The Soviets were also pioneers in fracking (they even experimented in using nuclear explosives in fracking in the sixties). The Russians don’t frack much not due to any lack of technology (Western analysts are unaware of this) but quite simply their vast natural gas resources are easily economically accessible just by ordinary drilling and pumping (for that reason the Saudis don’t frack much either). Fracking in the Russian and Saudi context would be relevant only several decades from now (but remember that Artic Sea basin). Fracking is popular in the US because US natural gas and oil wells are quite old but even so it is much more expensive.
Anyways to get to the point (sorry for the long overview but I had to put Soviet geological and mining tech into a context which Western decision makers are ignorant of):
—the basic result of Soviet geological searches was that the raw material resources of the Ukraine are totally dwarfed by Siberian resources and LARGELY LIE in the GEOLOGICALLY-UNIQUE ultra mineral-rich Donetsk basin anyways. In a way by cutting themselves off from Russia the Ukrainians cut themselves from raw materials which could have been available at friendly below-market prices thus dooming any hopes of an Ukrainian industrial revival (Ukrainian industry as stated in the article was gigantic rivalling Germany’s on a smaller population)…sorry them’s the breaks.
To sum it up:
the current talk about a vast, unexploited treasure trove underneath the Ukraine of titanium, lithium, rare earths, natural gas etc. is just artificial propaganda hype (so common to Western culture of today) meant to entice Western decision-makers who again are totally ignorant of the ACTUAL facts regarding the ACTUAL state of raw material resources-Ukrainian resources are totally surveyed, they are limited, and they have been exploited for several decades now (including titanium and lithium… gee gollywhackers! holey moley! who knew lithium was mined and used before cell phones! put that in your next grade five school report!). Very likely, Ukrainian politicos are equally ignorant of these facts and are just pulling things outta their asses and engaging in fantasy-fulfillment. If they were realistic they would realize they need cheap resources from Russia to re-industrialize.
That’s the history of the US since the so-called Spanish-American war, roving the world looking for prey in the weakness of others. The list of countries invaded, attacked, governments overthrown is lengthy. Perkin’s book ‘Confessions of an Economic Hitman’ shows how they’ve looted countries, particularly in Latin America. The looting of Russia in the wake of the breakup of the USSR has been noted by some but the looting of Ukraine hasn’t gained much attention. It was an artificial state put together by communists who put parts of Russia into Ukraine, being a productive area with resources given to Ukraine as a reward for Kiev going red in their civil war. Also, much as the ‘woke’ types here consider white people and their potential populism a problem, Russians were divided by communists for fear of Russian ‘chauvinism’. They no longer want to be a part of that dysfunctional state and have left. Note how the US and its European vassals have been engaging in all this war incitement propaganda, threatening WW III over this. Sure, the Ukrainians are prone to corruption but they are the smaller fish lured by the moneybag bigger fish of the US. Traitors can be bought in any country.
Thank you for that geological excursion! If I am not mistaken, Soviet geologists also had a different take on the origin of oil. They regarded oil as the product of chemical processes deep underground, not primarily as “fossil” fuels (evidently the result of geological thinking based on the origins of coal and lignite).
Indeed, if the traditional theory under which the Seven Sisters operated until a few decades ago were totally true, no oil deposits would ever have been discovered in geological environments that are considered to be among the oldest on the planet, namely off the coasts of Australia, Brazil and Angola. Not being a geologist myself, I believe a fossil origin of certain oil deposits could not be excluded perse, but it is very well possible Soviet geologists were right across the board and that all oil is non-fossil.
That in itself would be quite amusing given the frantic yelling of all those “Extinction Rebellion” zealots against the continued use of “fossil fuels.” Funny also that those fools are being funded by money earned and left by J.Paul Getty (https://www.thetimes.com/article/getty-heiress-donates-500-000-to-extinction-rebellion-q2ftdb2m7)
The abiogenic oil question is interesting. The idea was promoted in the West by Thomas Gold who worked with Soviet scientists.
I completely agree on the Ukraine issues. Geology is amazing. It is fun to imagine guys hiking all over the planet looking at rocks and then divining where to dig for minerals.
Aluminum-lithium alloys may be a more complex example than you want, though. Just to clarify the details, apparently the first use of these alloys was on an American aircraft called the Vigilante in the early 1960’s. The Russians did subsequently use these alloys a lot. After the Soviet Union collapsed the knowledge moved back to the West and the alloys are now fairly common, though still a niche product. The amount of lithium used in these expensive materials has always been pretty small. The space shuttle external tank was an exception, though I think the final versions went back to non-lithium aluminum alloys. The Soviets also used scandium in very high strength aluminum alloys which may have been a first. They did lots of great work and were much were competitive with Western science and technology than most people realize.
I occasionally point out that the real “peace dividend” from the end of the Cold War probably was the mass exodus of Soviet scientists to the rest of the world where their productivity increased and raised capability to new levels.
Sounds like Vogel is covering for the Jews who looted the whole place.
News Flash! Stop the presses this just in; small minorities of Jews may be controlling some countries!
It’s really is a sad tale of a nation. Seduced for the riches of aligning with the west but end up with the west owning your country . The main reason Ukraine has held out so long is the western mercenaries. Western mercenaries are the blocking troops that shoot any retreating Ukraine troops and protect the gay comedian. Im surprised China and Hua Bin don’t show the world more of what an alliance with American really is. Henry Kissinger said it best, “ it may be dangerous to be American’s enemy, but to be American’s friend is fatal “
A good article on the background to the Ukraine war.
Conclusion: Yet another Zio-Globalist Regime Change operation. This time aimed at Russia while using/destroying Ukraine. Also planning to later strip it of anything of value.
In regards to Soviet/Russian non-biological formation of oil and gas resources theories most Russian geologists were and still are conventional in subscribing to a biological origin BUT the abiogenic Russian school was (and again still is) quite large and the theory was always regarded as highly intriguing even by conventional-minded Russian petrogeologists. Among major pieces of evidence were Cuban oil deposits in igneous rocks which is supposed to be impossible.
To make a long story short, American physicists brazenly stole that idea without crediting the Russian theorists in the nineties (just like the American geological survey of Afghanistan in the 21st century took credit for discovering huge mineral deposits-the Americans basically just consulted old Soviet surveys) . The fascinating thing is if the theory is upheld (and it does have solid evidence) we, like you said, would have access to incredible amounts of hydrocarbons-we would just need to drill very deep AND we would also discover oil on Mars and perhaps the Moon!
THE PROBLEM is that exploratory oil drilling is very, very capital intensive. It is much, much more economical to drill sedimentary basins according to conventional theories then to do very deep drilling into very hard rock where there is little understanding or experience, at this point in time, how deep we actually have to go at individual locations.
Just as an aside about the romance of people hiking the planet and staring at rocks- the most famous of those Russian parachute geologists (basically jumping out of an aircraft with a rifle, a sleeping bag, a compass and a backpack for rock samples) then trekking hundreds of miles to the nearest dilapidated telegraph shack was an ex-sniper credited with 20 or so notches who discovered among other things the world’s richest diamond mine (now unfortunately played out). For that achievement that person was selected to be personally interviewed by Stalin.
Anyways, so Stalin walks into the room and…
“be still my black Bolshevik beating heart”!…
The sniper-geologist (yes it was a thing) was a stunningly beautiful, blue-eyed, breasty, twenty year old blondie!
So basically it’s like if Marilyn Monroe instead of working in a drone factory and then as a call girl and finally an actress first volunteered to be an USMC assault team member killing several Japanese but not really making a big deal outta of it because she later gained fame and fortune as a fabled geologist trekking the isolation of the Alaskan wilderness and discovering several gigantic raw material resources. Thus the US would not really get a mythic upskirt panty shot but would gain the Diavik diamond mine instead so I guess it would have been a fair trade in some ways (of course continuing with that timeline she would still marry Joe DiMaggio and sleep with JFK although both men would recommend her using deodorant since her trekking Alaska made her smell a bit funky (and for God’s sakes shave her pits too). She definitively would not marry Arthur Miller since he wasn’t the outdoorsy-type. Oh and her famous 1958 LIFE magazine photoshoot where she played dressup as past sex goddesses like Jean Harlow and Marlene Dietrich would still be a go but modified with her dressing as Skookum Jim (the discoverer of Klondike gold) and Columbus Joiner (the discoverer of the East Texas oil field ). Of course, unlike Skookum and Columbus she would show a lot of cleavage in that photoshoot).
True enough, my description of Al-Li alloys was indeed a tad simplistic and you provided a better description. The real situation was, as always in technology, multi-national. Both the Soviets and the Americans (and the Brits) developed those alloys (there being several kinds) in the forties and fifties onwards with yes the Vigilante being the first to incorporate them on a production basis. Even so the Soviets used them much more than the West in the latter part of the Cold War. Now they indeed are much more common even though still niche as you stated.
However most lay people ( and thus policy makers) regard lithium as being useless prior to lithium batteries and so they think there is a need to quickly claim deposits because geologists and technologists somehow ignored it before. Another use of lithium is to minimize manic episodes in Bipolar sufferers.
I would tend to disagree that there was a great increase in productivity after the rest of the world got better access to Soviet science (but certainly Soviet scientists moving West was a benefit to respective Universities and Tech companies). In fact I think that a lot of Russian technology was deliberatively ignored (and thus stayed home) since the West though Russia as hopelessly backward (it was and still is backward in some things but also much more advanced than the West in other things) and thus the impact of Soviet science after the Cold War was not as great as the post World War II access to German technology (jet engines, tape recorders, liquid fuel ballistic rockets etc. etc.) where the winners were scrambling to incorporate German tech into almost everything whereas the West’s failure to incorporate a lot of Soviet tech after the Cold War made losers of us all.
Anyways thanks for the discussion.
Oh wait, don’t go yet! I just thought of one more important thing concerning this article about The Ruination of the Ukraine-
In the hypothetical timeline the world would still have a Marilyn Monroe upskirt panty shot! How could I have been so stupid, of course! She, after-all, spending too much time in the wilderness wouldn’t be that familiar with the fact the NYC subway gratings cause updrafts so her skirts would go flying anyways exposing her fifties style fullbacks! It’s actually quite eerie and certainly creepy how no matter whatever the timeline one cannot escape one’s fate….anyways I have to take my lithium now.
Remember kids! Lithium, the friendly magic metal of a thousand-and-one uses, ain’t only for batteries but for airframes and mania too!
(BTW relax, I’m not really manic. I’m just satirical).
I burst out laughing reading this piece when I read that bit about the ‘success’ of Ukraine as an independent nation and the fact that it lost half of its population and most of its GDP.
The funniest thing I’ve read all year.
This is what happens when politicians are dumb enough to take The Economist magazine seriously.
The worst is yet to come for Ukraine. After the end of the war we’ll get the “reconstruction”.
Russia and to a lesser extent Belarus recovered partially after the American Jewish looting because they got in strong man leaders to bring the oligarchs to heel somewhat (Of course their power was not totally curtailed and to some extent it was integrated into a new ruling structure) if things had gone unchallenged for a few more years it’s possible both would have slid into the mire Ukraine had whose oligarch parasites continued to reign totally unchecked.
It looks like despite having already given up everything it is possible to give up they’ll find some blood to wring from the stone in the next round. What is disgraceful is that because this context of triangulation and Ukraine being made to fight Russia for the interests or even just petty desires of foreign powers is impossible to say and seemingly for almost the entire upper middle class, impossible to think, the language is now that Ukraine now owes the foreign powers now rather than the reverse. We saw this first with Poland and now with Trump. This rhetoric unfortunately will ease into Ukraine being looted and sacked yet again (Making it unlikely the millions of Ukrainians will be going home from the West any time soon) in order to pay it’s “debts”. It is not possible for Trump or Musk to say out loud that 10 dead Ukrainians for 1 dead Russian soldier is 1 dead Russian soldier for free for the neocons who provoked this war.
This process will make even the horrific war seem quaint. The war was temporary, Ukraine’s ruination from the coming “economic reconstruction” will smash it deeply and forever like the potato famine did to Ireland. Like Ireland it will likely be centuries if ever that it’s population recovers. Like Ireland it will be driven by an alien feudal elite with unlimited hatred for the native population. If you think Ukraine is corrupt now… And perhaps as with 91 what they get away with in Ukraine will eventually form the long-term basis for what they plan to do to the West.
The elites of the West are incapable of seeing what is right before them. This isn’t a conquest of Ukraine by Russia, this is a conquest of Ukraine by Washington, London and Tel Aviv.
As Kissinger observed: “It may be dangerous to be America’s enemy, but to be America’s friend is fatal.”
Of course, to speak out loud that the proxy war with Russia is really all about Syria is also impossible. The whole “Russiagate” nonsense was born out of Trump’s expressed scepticism about a regime change war on Syria. Since “Trump Derangement Syndrome” as it came to be called was so intense many on the progressive left were just prepared to believe anything negative about Trump. This enabled the greatest neocon coup of all, turning what should have been their biggest opponents into effective neocons on Russia. I honestly don’t know if the average Western progressive can tell you why they are supposed to hate Putin so much, they don’t seem to know. This enabled the intensification of things into all out war.
The neocons have achieved something insane. Biden gave them the wars Trump wouldn’t and now Trump will give them the peace Biden wouldn’t dare. Trump would never give Israel it’s wars but he doesn’t care about the Palestinians and will take the path of least resistance and give Israel everything it wants in “peace”. I’m amazed nobody else is noting this.
The recent Oscars sweep features a film called “Anora” which features a Russian oligarch family of immense wealth all played by fairly North-West Russians who look more Swedish than Jewish. No questions about how they got their money are asked, not even by the title character trying to marry in who comes from a 2nd or 3rd generation post-Soviet Russian (Classic post 91 Brighton Beach) background. She is somehow uninterested, as is the script. The lead actress is Jewish but not from a Soviet Jewish background. In the film her partial Asian looks are played off as her being of central Asian ancestry.
The occasion led host Conan O’Brien (Who had previously filmed and aired a segment visiting Netanyahu’s house for dinner and a propaganda piece visiting an IDF field hospital for wounded ISIS fighters from Syria.) to make the only political joke of the night, nothing about Trump’s deranged statements about Gaza. No instead he made a joke about America enjoying watching “somebody stand up to a powerful Russian” in Anora. How many dead Ukrainians has such casual rhetoric from America’s ignorant elites enabled?
Gorbachev’s legacy.
Simply the shittiest national ‘leader’ of all time.
In technical fields I follow there was a substantial influx of papers with novel ideas by Russian ex-pats starting around 1990. I think these people and their kids tend to perform at above average levels compared to the US cohort. A few of these people were superstars, but I think the next rank down probably made a major contribution.
I take it for granted that third world military technology projects benefited even more from these ex-CIS scientists and engineers. The West spent money to prevent this but I don’t think those efforts were very successful.
What are the names of the Russian geologist/sniper and the mine?
The ruination of Ukraine is only excelerating.
March the 8th saw a number of Ukrainian towns fall to Russia.
Now the environmental conditions are improving we will see a rapid collapsing of Ukrainian positions, I expect Kursk to be liberated within a month.
So Europe, if your going to do something you better do it fast otherwise it’s just tough words you throw about, and tough words don’t secure a collapsing front line.
Larissa Popogajova-she discovered the huge Mir diamond mine among other things as a parachute geologist. Basically a legend in Russian geology (I’m not geologist but my father was-Chinese geologists shared a lot of stories about her when by Dad was among the first Western geologists to visit China in the late seventies-previously prior to our family defection when he was a Czech geologist working in Cuba he heard a lot of stories about her from the Russians-when he was in China he broke ice for his West German uranium company because over alcohol the Chinese and him just shared stories about her and her adventures)
When you talk about the US and UK doing dirty work within a country, only the totally ignorant do not know that means Jewish bankers are getting the biggest spoils.
WASP Empire is Anglo-Zionism
You need to define ‘shittiest.’ The US and UK have had some real humdinger’s when it comes to harming their own people.
The population loss of post-independence Ukraine even prior to the current war exceeded that of WWII and the Stalinist repressions, even when accounting percentage-wise for a smaller Ukrainian population in the thirties and forties. Gulp! Quite incredible actually.
Thank you very much Gorbachev and his reformers (basically Gorby is responsible for a population drop exceeding all the other Bolshevik leaders combined), Western economic advisors and the neocons. Just think about it- those three groups led to more deaths, both actually and percentage of the population, than either Stalin and Hitler. Also, the more western-oriented a former Soviet republic was and is (the Baltics, Georgia, Armenia vs Russia itself and Belarus and the Stans) the higher the population loss (and remember no one can blame a war for the nineties/early 21st cent. population drop!).
The Ukraine population recovered about three years after the famine and about 15 years after WWII but has never reached the 1989 population level (36 years ago).
Thus we Unz readers can proudly and truthfully say that the neocons are worst than either Stalin or Hitler (but, of course, no-one will believe us). These stats are published and available but nobody cares to make connections.
Just appreciate this fact: Latvia’s population decline (which is still ongoing) has been 30 percent since independence. No famine. No war. No epidemic…but a loss similar to the Black Death. Basically something never ever experienced in the million-year history of mankind but almost all pundits consider Latvia and the other Baltic states (which had pop declines similar to Latvia’s) a rip-roaring success. The face of true evil.
He wasn’t evil per se just innately idiotic (and too trusting of obvious enemies and too distrustful of obvious friends), the end result being totally evil results-a leader like Gorbachev might come about perhaps once in a thousand years. His little personal peculiarities led to tens of millions of early deaths; several ex-Soviet republic might need a century or so to regain their population prior to his administration.
Only a disingenuous writer could write about the ruination of Ukraine without mentioning the Jews.
Only a dimwit could fail to grasp this.
