Community-Based Transformational Learning (CBTL)
The University of North Florida Nutrition and Dietetics undergraduate and graduate programs are community-based transformational learning programs. Community-based transformational learning refers to intentionally designed, coordinated and executed learning experiences in community-based settings that enhance participants' academic learning, contribute to their personal growth and increase their civic engagement while concurrently benefiting the community or communities in which these activities are embedded.

The University of North Florida's Nutrition and Dietetics undergraduate and graduate programs are committed to transforming students into valued professionals through the pursuit and acquisition of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors essential for lifelong learning.
The BS/DPD and MS/DI programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, 120 South Riverside Plaza, Suite 2190, Chicago, IL 60606-6995, (312) 899-0040 ext 5400. Students wishing to become registered dietitians will also need to complete a post-baccalaureate degree experience in an ACEND accredited internship (supervised practice) program and pass a national registration exam. Internships are competitive in nature and range from 6 months to 2 years in length. Most of these programs require that applicants utilize a centralized computer matching process called D&D Digital.
