Reimagining the healthcare workforce of tomorrow
About MedNexus
MedNexus at UNF was created from an ambitious legislative budget request in 2020 to apply innovative solutions to the healthcare workforce challenge. We award one million dollars in scholarships each year to nearly 500 Nursing students and support four fulltime Nursing faculty lines.
To further support Nursing education, we operate a 40,000 square foot state-of-the-art Simulation Center and Learning Space where students cultivate their skills, enhance their knowledge, and refine their decision-making abilities through cutting-edge simulation technology. This site also houses the HCA Healthcare Center for Clinical Advancement which provides additional hands-on training for current HCA Healthcare employees.
The Workforce of the Future
Beyond our commitment to Nursing education, we are thinking about the workforce of 2030 and beyond. Advances in technology, such as artificial intelligence, automation and telemedicine, are revolutionizing patient care and streamlining administrative processes, necessitating new skill sets and roles within the industry. MedNexus works with healthcare industry partners to equip students with the skills and knowledge the need in the complex new healthcare landscape.
We are committed to personalized academic programs in regions with specialized workforce needs, badging, certifications, community innovative challenges, and high-impact practices opportunities with our industry partners.
